was there during the chinese new year (cny) period and was really impressed with the hotel services, amenities and especially the view. Breathtaking view of the hk shoreline at eye level... simply fascinating

however, the location is rather inconvenient during a festive season like the cny as throngs of people will be gathered around the hotel just to view the fireworks... and the cops in hk are not exactly helping...

in fact, i had to check in late and not being a guest at the point in time when the fireworks started means i have to painstakingly squeeze through the crowd... never again...

I have stayed here many times over the past several years when it was the Regent and now the Intercontinental. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. It is located in Tsim Sha Tsui on Kowloon side. Very close to the ferry boats and the MTR subway system. Your HARBORSIDE room will have a window that opens up to the Central district on Hong Kong Island which is on the other side of the harbor. During the day the view is spectacular but at night it is priceless. It is like having a huge movie screen in your room and you are able to watch the real time ebb and flow of this fantastic city. The room itself is fantastic, the eating and drinking venues terrific and the service suburb. By comparison the Ritz is newer and taller (by about a 100 stories) but it is located in no-wheres-ville. Te Intercon is where the action is or very close to it. This place is a Bucket List experience.

I arrived here after a long flight flight from the USA (25 hour journey, including connections). Once I was checked in at about 10pm, I went to my room and noted the beautiful plaza view. I arrived on the tail end of the Chinese New Year so all the waterview room had already been booked. The appointments of the facility are along the standard one can expect from the Intercontinental brand. In fact I stayed at London ICH and had the same linens and furniture. If I can say two words that resonated throughout my one week stay here, it would be "Water Pressure!" Even though I was on the 7th floor, the water pressure was simply amazing. At full throttle it could literally blow you away. It was so good, everyday my shower would last no less than 30 minutes.
The location was also very nice. The views from the Avenue of Stars which is the adjacent boardwalk of the Hong Kong harbor was simply breathtaking. I was a short 10 minute walk to the Star Ferry, which for the HK$2.00 you can cross the harbor to Hong Island about every 20 miinutes or so. The hotel is also just off Nathan Rd., for those fashionistas who are dying to shop designer brands. At a USD$100 a person for the dinner buffet, I would have to say that it was a fairly steep price, but considering the view, location, service, and quality of food, I would say it was worth it. All in all, I would have to say that I had an amazing experience, so much so that when making future bookings, I will be sure to check the ICH's first.

I first stayed here as the Regent many years ago on my first trip to Hong Kong. I have tried MANY other HK hotels...but this is my favorite. The classic design never fades. The warm and genuine service is a Hong Kong Tradition.

Rooms are HUGE and wonderful. Baths are also HUGE.

Water view rooms are favored, but all are great.

I really recommend upgrading the the CLUB, which is located on the second floor. Great dining options, and a welcome refuge from the hustle of HK.

The Infinity pool is wonderful, as is the health club.

Dining options....??? You never have to leave. The Sunday brunch is incredible...stunning views are the perfect accompaniment to the food. The other dining options just get better and better.

Perfect location, perfect staff....perfect stay in every way.
