Upon arrival the staff's service was average. Although generally polite, when we asked if anyone would take our bags up she looked surprised we even asked (and the answer was no), when I asked whether there was wifi in the lobby she said we had to pay $130HKD/day to use wi-fi anywhere (and there was no option for shorter time usage). In my opinion, this seems quite extortionate as nowadays even three star hotels have wi-fi in the lobby area. We upgraded to a harbour-view standard room. The room itself was clean, well lit and pleasantly decorated with muted colours albeit small. The bathroom was suitably furnished (hairdryer was a plus) but very cramped and the bathtub had some stains. It did not look fit to take a bath in, so we only ever showered. The bed mattress was extremely comfortable but note that the king size bed was only two singles pushed together. There is literally no cupboard space therefore we had to keep a lot of our clothes in our suitcases. In terms of the harbour-view, my opinion is that it is probably not good value to upgrade to it because the view is pretty limited due to buildings blocking most of the harbour and if you are in a standard room I think they normally put you on the lower floors where the view is even more limited. Overall, I thought this was a standard hotel. It has all the necessities. Although there are quite a few shortcomings, the hotel is very conveniently situated next to the MTR station and busstops and the location (Tsim sha tsui) is a tourist centre so there are many museums and department stores located nearby.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights late Jan 2012. The location is the prime reason. The hotel is right in the center of Kowloon nice area, MRT in front, and the ferry is a few block away. We paid about $160 per night with breakfast. The room is very small and ok in condition. The staffs are helpful, and the breakfast is ok. Not much for business purpose. No free wifi.

I stayed in the Hotel Kowloon for 1 week in January. Having initially payed for a standard double room I decided to upgrade to a harbour view room on my arrival. The view was good but as the hotel view is obstructed by another hotel (the Peninsula Hotel) the harbour view was limited but it was definitely worth it. The room was very comfortable although the air-conditioning control was a bit temperamental. This hotels main trump card is its location - 2 minutes from the star ferry, there is a metro station in front of the hotel, and the joys of TST are just around the corner.

Overall I was very satisfied with my room and on my next visit I shall have no hesitation in using this hotel again!

My husband & i stayed at this hotel oct 2010 , it was very clean & the staff were great but the room was VERY small . My husband is 5"11 and his feet were hanging out of the bed ??? Value for money but dont be too tall
