This is an older (appears to be 15+ years old), yet upscale hotel on the northeastern side of HK island. It is directly across from the Quarry Bay MTR Station (Exit C). There is also a Wellcome supermarket, Pizza Hut, Maxim's Bakery, and McDonald's all within one block of the hotel. I saw white, Japanese, and Chinese mainlander tourists there. They also have serviced apartments.
Rooms are big considering HK standards (me, hubby and child and 3 large suitcases and stroller fit and still had plenty of room to maneuver around the room). No bathtubs in the vast majority of rooms. Furnishings and fittings are nice but dated (this is not the W - and you will not be paying the W's prices).
Service is fine, concierge and bellman are helpful. Did not try the downstairs coffee shop, lobby bar/coffee area/buffet restaurant, upper floor fancy Chinese restaurant, or room service. Prices on the menus appeared to be very reasonable for a hotel.
Did not like: (a) charged HKD$90 for a power converter from the minibar (no option to borrow one for free like in most hotels), (b) charged a daily rate for wireless internet access, yet only one device could use it (i.e., would have to pay another full rate for another device to use it), (c) I didn't really care, but some Chinese visitors may be superstitious as this hotel is next to a funeral home (which is unmarked from the street and looks like a regular office building).
All in all, it is a decent hotel and if the rate was good, I wouldn't mind staying there again.
