Its different from past Hong Kong hotels experienced, being positioned in a safe suburban area. There's two main buildings, one with suites, open direct to the street but very safe. Excellent economical food outlets & restaurants and ample good shopping in adjacent buildings in fact whilst some limitations on range, clothing prices were excellent.
Its about 40 minutes on MRT to the city, a great experience but can be exhausting if you plan daily city trips. The light train is 12 minutes to the new Wetlands Park, a great example of ecotourism. An amazing array of fruits are sold at the trainline area each day, and great roasted chestnuts.
Rooms are just large enough, well serviced, very clean with tea/coffee making facilities. Quality fittings and very well appointed bathrooms. With more than ten years since my last visit, I would probably stay in the city next time, albeit a more expensive option. Then again walking outside to pleasant parks and uncrowded shops is possibly worth thinking about again. The little austere 'local' atmosphere could be improved and several staff in shops and the hotel had rather limited English.
