“One night Experience at Regal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I just stayed for one night at this hotel, but it was a very clean and beautifull hotel. A bit away from the action and city you need to take a taxi or transport to reach and MRT.
ONLY ONE BAD THING ABOUT THIS HOTEL WAS THEY DID NOT EVEN PROVIDE 500 ML COMPLIMENTARY MINERAL WATER.
They provide you with free 2 hr internet at the lobby which is very good.
Rooms are clean
Bed is soft.
Staff are friendly
The price was reasonable

“A little far from all the action, but a great hotel for the price!”

My fiance and I traveled to Hong Kong for Chinese New Year. Most hotels were already booked and or tiny tiny rooms. The Regal was an excellent price and a nice spacious room! We were looking for a non-smoking room and one with a view of the city/harbor. They were able to accommodate us with no problem, and we even got an upgrade for no extra cost. If you book thru the hotel website, free wifi and fitness room usage is included, so I recommend booking this way. After researching we found that the price was the same anyway. The location is a bit off the beaten path, but there is a bus stop right out in front of the hotel, that you can hop on & for just $5 you can get all the way down to the ferry stop and everywhere in between. you could also have the bus take you to a stop thats about a 10 minute walk to the closest MTR train station. We found it to be quite easy & convenient. The staff were extremely helpful and had no problem directing us to the correct buses when we had questions. There were free cookie refreshments at the reception counter every day when we were there & i appreciated that touch. Our only gripe is that the mattress was pretty hard, that seems to be the case in Asia we discovered. Despite that, we would not hesitate booking this hotel and location if we ever return to Hong Kong!

Room Tip: Request rooms on a higher floor to ensure a view and a quieter stay.

“Expensive but good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

The Regal group has several hotels in Hing Kong and I stayed at the Oreint on Sa Po road. Was there for a business trip and on a tight budget, so was very happy with the assistance that they provided at HK airport, and for the Bus shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. The shuttle runs every few hours and is probably the best way to get to the hotel - taxis can be expensive. While the hotel itself is situated in an areas where the front gate looks out to a road with some shabby shops, don't let that fool you. The hotel is very well maintained, and the concierge is extremely helpful and knowledgeable (and witty)! Since a lot of people in HK do not understand English (remember this when you hail a taxi) - the hotel has a very useful services where they give you a small card and write the name of the place that you wish to go in Chinese! All you need to do is show the card to the taxi/ bus driver and you're good to go. While returning back to the hotel, just turn over the card and there's a map to reach the hotel with directions in English as well as Chinese. Loved this :-)
Breakfast is often not included in room bookings, and can be a bit expensive, so if you're on a budget, speak to the hotel and they will direct you to nearby places where you can eat, even a McDonald nearby.

“A worthy place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

First of all, I got a voucher from Agoda.com for this hotel, so we got a cheaper deal compared to their normal rates. So this review is pretty much biased because of the cheaper price. AHhaha! Anyway, I'll try to be fair.

This is a pretty good hotel. We got the QUADRUPLE room with four single beds. The room was spacious and very well lit. There's a tub in the bathroom and kept very clean too! Our voucher didn't include any breakfast so we had to visit nearby stores like McDonalds for breakfast.

PROS
It is very near the bus station, so transpo is easy. They have shuttle buses too, but are quite pricey. you're better off getting a cab, and follow your own time. You'd want to get buses instead of cabs, they charge really high!

Their staff are friendly, and they give you directions pretty well.

Rooms are very clean, and the streets outside are tourist friendly.

CONS
They charge 100HKD for wifi. WHO DOES THAT?! Go to McDonalds for free wifi, it's just a few blocks away. ahaah!

Overall, I'd highly recommend Regal Oriental for family trips, and small groups. They have a very beautiful lobby, classy!

Room Tip: Travelling in a big group, avail their quadruple room!
