Very good location for this very large hotel one step from the MRT and facing Hong Kong. Unfortunately non existing pool and gym even if it exist on the ground floor but you need a lot of motivation to go there. Nice tapas bar and huge restaurant. Of course choose a room with a view . Horizon club nice but not very convenient since you have to climb one floor after the elevator.

My mom and I spent two days at the Shangri-La early October 2011 as a stop over point. Most reviewers agree that the rooms/bathrooms were nicely appointed, and if you are in a room with a harbor view it is spectacular--day or night-- with lots of goings on. I especially loved the comfortable beds and crisp linens but what made me most happy were their king size pillows!! I believe that they are Down -- one on the softer side and one firmer. I have purchased every pillow imaginable in the U.S . and could not find true "pillow happiness" until I slept on their pillows!!
As we were checking out I decided to ask the concierge if these pillows were available for purchase. He replied that he really did not know, but made a quick phone call and was told that they were available in their gift shop-- I was in heaven! These pillows made a 15 day trip with me through Vietnam,Cambodia , the Mekong Delta and home to Chicago. All the lugging around was well worth it and my husband is especially happy as he thinks I am crazy having spent $$$$ on pillows. With the money I will now save I can take him back to the Shangri-La!!

My family and I stayed here after Christmas 2011 and through the New Year period. From arrival to departure we could not fault the service and the staff were extremely polite and helpful-little touches like remembering your surname without looking it up were much appreciated.
We stayed in a room with harbour view which was very comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked with toiletries. The TV in the bathroom was also a nice extra as you could still hear the morning news when taking a shower.
The hotel got very busy over the New Year period but the staff coped very well and remained as pleasant as ever. The afternoon teas were spectacular over the holiday period-best I have seen.
We stayed on the Horizon Club floor and for an extra charge this included a hearty breakfast, drinks and canapes between 6-8pm each evening which was a good recommendation by our travel agent as the cost of food and drinks can mount up.
When we left we took a hotel limousine to the airport and were met by another member of Shangri-la staff who took over and took ourselves and our luggage straight to the correct check in desk-we didn't even have to wait in a queue and within minutes found ourselves in the departure lounge ( after a hassle free experience) with plenty time to relax before our flight home.
Would definitely stay with the Shangri-la group again.

My husband and I stayed here for a 3 night stop over at the beginning of a 6 week trip. After a long flight from Sydney we checked in without much hassle and arrived at our harbour view room which we had requested.
We were not disappointed by the room or the bed, one of the best beds I have ever slept in. The room was big & clean, robes & slippers included and the views were great for Hong Kong.
On the negative side, no breakfast was included in our stay, which is disappointing considering we were paying a premium amount for our harbour view room, however I guess this is quite typical of these larger hotel groups.
Although the staff were friendly, there was something impersonal about the Shangri La and I would hesitate staying here again based on value for money.
