“Live like a Prince at the Prince”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

The best thing with this hotel is accesibility to a lot of venues like the ocean terminal, harbour city, kowloon park and the kowloon china ferry terminal.

They have already started renovations on a per floor basis. When i visited last year, they were on the upper floor renovations, now they are on the mid floors already. It was good that we were assigned to the renovated rooms. Very nice changes. Cant comment on food cause we ate outside but the stay was very relaxing after a tiring day.

Room Tip: Reserve a room on the upper floors if possible

“Still a good and practical choice”

We have stayed in this hotel a couple of times in the past and nothing much has changed except for the refurbishing works done in the lobby. Notwithstanding, the hotel's management has kept the hotel in very good condition over the years. Fortunately, the hotel can be accessed by wheelchair-bound guests (such as my Mom) with the installation of the lift to and from the hotel's driveway. We booked 4 rooms, all on triple-sharing basis; however, to our surprise, 2 of the rooms are designed to be "single" rooms. There was one double bed (size not suitable for 2 persons) and a folding, extra bed. The room was so crammed with the extra bed, obviously, but failingly, to make the room good enough for 3 persons. The air conditioning system needs to be upgraded. The system is outdated, we were unable to regulate the temperature within our desired room temperature. Since it was rather cold in Hong Kong and the air conditioner in the hotel's common areas was set in very low temperature, we looked forward to a warm, comfortable room. No doubt, the location of the hotel is the foremost consideration of guests in choosing the Marco Polo Prince. We enjoyed a quiet and intimate Christmas Day buffet lunch at the Lobby Lounge, which was small, yet very cozy. A great place to unwind after an exhausting day in busy and crowded Hong Kong streets and malls.

Room Tip: If you're booking a triple room, make sure you get the room with 2 twin beds, which is quite spa...

“Unbeatable location in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui & adjacent to Harbor City”

This hotel is part of the Marco Polo chain and the best thing it has going for it is the location, Kowloon shopping of every kind, hundreds of restaurants, Macau Ferry, MTR (subway), Cruise Terminal are all within a short walking distance. If you take the Airport Express from HK Airport get of at the Kowloon station and head up one level to catch a free shuttle bus to this hotel - first drop off in the area! The lobby is a bit tiny with no real room to meet and greet any friends unless you sit at the bar or the restaurant. The rooms are mostly quite old and a bit run down - although the hotel is undergoing a phased renovation. If breakfast is included in your stay its a decent spread but tables can be a bit hard to find in the morning rush. There is no gym however the concierge will give you a visitor pass to the nearby well equipped gym in Harbor City. If you plan to check out during the evening hour to get to the airport plan ahead as the taxi lines can run very very long, If you don't have a lot of baggage walk across to the nearby Macau Ferry building and you will have a lot more options to get a faster cab service. There is a big food court 2 floors up by escalator in Harbor City that offers everything from fast food to sit down meals at reasonable prices. The best way to get to Hong Kong island is a 10 minute walk through the mall to the Ferry Terminal and catching a Star Ferry - ultra cheap and best views of the Hong Kong skyline!

Room Tip: Most rooms do not offer much of a view of the harbor as nearby buildings block it although rooms fac...

“Location Excellent, Hotel Not So Good!”

We were really expecting a great hotel experience from the Prince but were very disappointed. The rooms are ancient and the hotel is currently undergoing a renovation and there is so much noise. The location is perfect as we travel quite regularly to Hong Kong for our shopping and being in the Harbour City mall makes the hotels location just perfect.

It can be difficult to get a taxi though and the staff are not helpful with this at all. There are many other hotels that we would stay at when we return next year and this is not one of them.

Room Tip: Aim for a room on the left side of the building as there is less noise as there is a lot of renovati...

“Great service and location but some disappointments”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

This was my second stay at this hotel for business purposes. The location is excellent and the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Those are definitely the highlights. For the price, however, this hotel is disappointing. First is the overwhelming smell of perfumy deoderizor upon entering the hotel. My room was on a non-smoking floor but reeked of cigarettes. The decor is somewhat dated, though the room was clean. The hotel has no fitness center but you can get a discounted pass (55HKD) at Fitness First in the adjacent mall. That fitness center is superb, but the walk through the mall is very inconvenient and is at least 1/2 kilometer! You also have to pay for internet access. Currently the hotel is undergoing construction so there is noise from 10am-6pm.
