FREE & EASY - FAMILY WITH YOUNG CHILDREN
My family (2 adults, 4 kids) booked the superior deluxe room @ Marco Polo Gateaway Hong Kong via booking.com . The hotel location is well situated in the Harbour City and linked to the shopping complexes.
Room - Very Good. Got 2 queen size beds. no extra charge for my kids. everyday we received a fresh fruits of basket.
Attraction - Disneyland Hong Kong, Ocean Park, Avenue of Stars, The Peak, Harbour City and the LAdies Night Market.
Muslim/Halal Food - Quite difficult to notice for a first time travellers. The best is @ Chungkin House where there are two Indian/Pakistan smalls shops selling bariyani rice, "teh tarik", white rice, tandoori chicken and etc. There are also Istanbul Kebab near to Holiday Inn Hotel @ Nathan road. Don't forget dim sum halal and varities of chinese muslim recipes @ Shaik Omar Mosque located in Wan Chai. You can download details of these location from Hong Kong Tourism Board website.
Tips
1) Transport - Buy Octopus card at the airport/nearest train station. very useful and cheap fare. U can use it for train, bus, ferry, The Peak and airport express.
2) Avoid stranger - A lot of Asian (especially Arabs/Indians/Pakistan) people stranded in Hong Kong due to visa problem. Normally they will look at you and recognise you as first time in Hong Kong. They behave to offer you a help and asking money to pay their hostel/expenses. Be careful. IGNORE them.
3) Taxi driver - Speak clearly about the location and if possible show him the name of the place with chinese characters. If not, you may get wrong place or direction.
4) Stroller - some of the train exit/entry is not stroller friendly.
