“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed at this Marriott for 4 nights following a two week cruise from Singapore. The staff was some of the best we have ever experienced in our many travels. The location is minutes to the park and it is possible to access the Pacific Place shopping mall from the hotel. This turned out to be a godsend for us as the weather was terrible during our entire stay and the people watching in the mall was free cinema. The fact that the hotel is not closer to other (more interesting?) parts of the city was not a drawback. Taxis in Hong Kong are very inexpensive and the drivers are very knowledgeable.

Our room was located on the 25th vloor over-looking the harbor. It was small for two people with two large bags. I agree with the comments of another guest who suggested there was too much "stuff" on the counters in the bathroom. Perhaps the hotel could place all of those boxes in a drawer or closet.

The selection of tv channels with US news or international sports (the Australian Open was unavailable on Marriott tv's) was dismal! Having said that, stays at other Marriotts in foreign venues suggests that this is a consistent theme with Marriott.

If you like Cantonese food, we found the restaurant to be quite good with excellent service.

Room Tip: High Floor with harbor view.

“Wonderful Hospitality, Views, and Amenities”

We stayed 6 nights (2 rooms). Although the rooms were on the smaller side, anything we needed was provided within our living quarters. There were so many elegant touches and great amenities. The service was beyond all - and the JW pride was visible throughout the entire staff. We loved the people and hospitality at the JW Marriott. It sure made our trip to Hong Kong!

“It is the thought that counts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip this January. The hotel is excellent from the staff who are welcoming and extremely helpful to the rooms to the fabulous outdoor swimming pool. It is some experience to use the high rise bulding of hong kong as my flag markers when doing back-crawl.

The rooms have everything you could need from differency types of plug sockets (if the adapter was left at home) to the biggest array of toileteries I have ever seen in any hotel room - it even had a bobbin (important for us girls in case we lose ours and have nothing to tie up our hair). Suffice to say that as everything was so well equipped I felt I throughly over packed...

The location was very central and we only resorted to taxis as it was sometimes difficult to navigate by foot.

The breakfast was great with huge variety (eggs poached to prefection every time and no vinegary taste which I hate when I get it) and the staff at breakfast were wonderful. They even arranged a slice of cake and candle on the morning for one of my work colleague's birthday.

For me the hotel prices are prehaps a bit prohibitive for any ol' holiday hotel but for special occassion/holiday while pricey I definately feel in this case you experience the five star difference making it worth the extra money.

“World's smallest rooms at a high price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I was shocked at the small size and odd shape of our room at the Marriott. The bedroom could barely hold one king-sized bed, and the hotel stuffed in an unnecessary chair/ottoman to let you know that this was a luxury hotel. The bathroom, also small, was cluttered with unnecessary boxes and bowls on the sink to achieve the same effect. The entranceway was L shaped, making delivery of a room service cart nearly impossible, particularly because the only place to open a suitcase was along the path. All this for only $400 per night.

Room Tip: Beg to get a bigger room.

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We had absolutely fabulous experience at this hotel. Our room was spacious (enough for 2 adults and 2 kids), bright, the bathroom was big, the view is great. All staff is super helpful. Perfect location, close to everything. Hotels just cannot get any better. I highly recommend this hotel.
