“Room with a view! Great Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

What a hotel. We chose a Club room with Harbour view and were not disappointed. The cocktails in Above and Beyond is a great way to start the evening and an inspirational breakfast venue. The staff were everywhere and you could not fault their attentiveness. Every time we called an elevator a member of staff exited as we entered.
This hotel is run by the Hong Kong Polytechnic and from the performance of the staff here, the hoteliers of Hong Kong will have some very able staff in the future.
Alyhough the location is not right downtown Kowloon, we walked to the Star Ferry terminal in around 15 minutes and the hotel has a regular shuttle that will take you if you have a disability.

Room Tip: The harbour view rooms had just that.

“Beautifully appointed new hotel - not super family friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We stayed for 2 nights in 2 rooms. 5 of us ( 2 adults and 3 children aged 12, 11 and 7) in a club suite 65 and Club icon 30 harbour view. A very comfortable rollaway was placed in the living room of the suite. The 2 rooms were adjoining but no interconnecting door - this was fine for our family but may not work for a family with younger children. We loved the rooms - very new and sleek with lots of groovy features - electronic lighting, login screen of tv welcomed you by name, free soft drinks/water/ M and Ms in mini bar, mirror tv in bathroom, amenities bag (you could take home) in bathroom, great rain shower, nespresso coffee machine, to name a few. The best thing was the amazing view - we were jet lagged after a 15 hr flight and loved lounging around enjoying the view. The pool (with gym behind) was quite incredible with the same amazing view. I did feel self conscious accompanying my children to the pool area as it had a very peaceful adult ambience and I did not want my kids to spoil this serenity for other guests. Club facilities were good with lovely breakfast. Afternoon tea and evening drinks okay - we were the only ones with children so didn't stay too long. Staff in the hotel very young and friendly - at times service was a bit slow - particularly at check in - we just wanted to get to our rooms but they drew out he process by sitting us down, offering us drinks etc and the whole process took 15 mins. There was also a delay getting bags to the room. Room service was average and we had trouble getting some wine to have in our room. Location is a little out of the way - fortunately taxis very cheap. We would return but do feel experience will be enriched with older children (or no children!)

“Unfaultable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

Brilliant hotel. Well but not perfectly placed being 10 min walk from Nathan rd, ferry etc. (they have a shuttle). Everything else was stylish and perfect, attentive service, beautiful rooms and views. Free wifi, free minibar and in room nespresso. get the club package for complimentary afternoon tea, evening cocktails and late checkout. Can't recommend it enough.

“Top Class Luxury Hotel at a decent price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I was thoroughly impressed by the staff, the cuisine, the decor and the ambiance that they have cultivated at the Icon. There was a fresh feeling and the attitude was not 'corporate'. I think it surpasses the nearby Shangri-la and the Intercon at much more reasonable prices.

The breakfast buffet was very good and the dinner Buffet was exceptional !

Room Tip: I was upgraded for some reason to the executive floor and the room was sumptuous

“Excellent service and outstanding facilities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We knew we would be arriving late at night so organised, through the hotel, a limousine from the airport. From the moment we arrived things were slick and convenient. The limo driver obviously contacted the hotel on aproach as when we arrived a porter and member of reception staff were on the front steps to welcome us, by name. Check-in was completed in our room and was very quick. The room was very modern and chic with agreat ultra modern bathroom. The hotel's location was very good and its shuttle bus very convenient. We stayed for 2 nights in a Club 36 King Room, which came with added benefits such as an executive reception, complimentary full breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapes and cocktails, all of which we happily made use of. We found the staff very eager to provide quality service. This will definitely be our HK hotel of choice for future visits.
