My husband and I chose this hotel mainly because of the good reviews, the very affordable price, and the strategic location.
We got the renovated couple's room which has a private bath/toilet and a double bed. The room is quite small, but you get what you pay for. Next time we return, we'l be booking the quadruple room. But we managed nevertheless, since we're both of small physical built. Just enough space for 2 medium-sized luggages, but not more.
There's free water dispenser right outside the room (which is a plus). The towels were very thin - but sufficient for our use and changed daily.
The only free amenities are body wash/gel and shampoo dispensers attached to the wall. Everything else - bring your own. Yes, including toothbrush/paste. There's hair dryer in the toilet/bath. The sink was really small, so big people might find it difficult to use.
Location is PERFECT ! A21 cityflyer bustop #13 (Tsim Sha Tsui) actually goes past it, so once you get off the bus, you just have to walk back a little (yes, past Holiday Inn but right before Giordano). It is right in the intersection of Nathan-TST main MTR station too! Building has a side exit if you take the freight elevator, which has MTR D2 exit right in front.
Elevator is quite small, but sufficient for 2 people with their luggages.
For breakfast, we simply take a quick walk to Silvercord mall food court (Food Republic - opens at 8am) which has a side entrance along Haiphong Rd.
Like I said, the hotel location is just so convenient that we usually go back to drop off our shopping haul then head back out to do some more shopping. Which means we spend more as get to shop more hahaha.
They were also very kind to allow us to leave our luggages upon check-out, while we go for some last-minute shopping.
Some quick shopping tips while at TST:
- Biggest Uniqlo store seems to be the one in Miramar, which is also along Nathan.
- For med-range to high-end specialty restaurants, visit iSquare mall, also along Nathan but opposite end of Miramar
- So many Le Saunda (mid-range priced shoe store selling good quality leather boots) shops nearby!
- So many Sasa stores nearby too! These are the hot-pink colored stores selling various cosmetics, perfumes, and health products.
- Take time to stroll and explore the nearby streets - you'll find a lot of interesting stores and restaurants.
When departing towards airport, you can either take the K3 airport shuttle or the A21 citybus - both bus stops just right across the street, a little bit to the left. We took the A21 bus as it's only 33 HKD, versus if you take airport express which is about 90 hkd.
We'll definitely return to this hotel - but will be getting a bigger room next time!
Request a room NOT facing street, and since room rates are cheap, might as well book the bigger room...
