We chose this hotel for an overnight stay in transit to Tokyo. The free airport shuttle was its main advantage followed by the Marriott deals on their website which offered a breakfast package inclusive of children 12 years and below.
Rather than have dinner at the hotel, we took the free shuttle to City Gate Outlet Center in Tung Chung and ate at the busy food court, simple and cheap food. In terms of shopping, the prices for clothing and footwear were really not that much of a bargain compared to Australia. Shuttles in the evening from Tung Chung were less frequent so rather than wait, we took a taxi.
The hotel room itself was bright, modern and clean. Thu buffet breakfast was great and had many options.
My main complain is their inability to sort out the hotel booking package. At check-in I had to point out that my booked package was inclusive of breakfast. Reception staff also need to improve their communication skills re explaining what is included in the booking, e.g. free internet access for Marriott members. While having breakfast, we were given a bill for the breakfast (2 adults and 1 child) so another explanation was given to the staff and the manager. At check-out, we were billed for the breakfast so this error was again pointed out. The 3 mistakes made me wonder if the problem was due to the language barrier versus their faulty computer booking system or both.
If I were to ignore my irritation about this, then I would recommend this hotel for short stays, otherwise, this is too far from where all the action is in Hong Kong.
