We got a pleasant stay in Cityview, and the plus point is the location! We arrived Cityview via the airport bus A21, for just HKD$33. Located just 3mins walk away from Yaumatei MTR, and you can easily walk over to Mongkok area in 10-15mins. Clean and decent room. 7-11 just round the corner.

I know that the people of China are not friendly or helpful in the least. However one would not think this would come from the staff of the Cityview Hotel. We arrived in Hong Kong 4 hours later than planned and had no transfer to the hotel. We finally got a terrible cab driver, but later realized that all cab drivers drove like they wanted to kill their occupants. Got to our hotel with my 1 year old, tired and cold. The reception staff we not helpful - it was as if we were doing them a favor! The reception area was basic. Around the corner was the coffee shop which was very festive and had a beautiful feel to it. Our rooms on the other hand were the complete opposite. I’m sure that the furniture and the items in the room were there from 1970. The hair dryer looked like a telephone. This was supposed to be a 4 star hotel. It maybe have been a 4 star hotel 40 years ago but in 2011 this hotel needs an uplift...badly. I was lucky enough to have only stayed 3 nights. The breakfast staff was rude and so were the managers. I cannot begin to describe how the experience at this hotel spoilt my trip to Hong Kong. I know I won’t return to Hong Kong again. Avoca Travels booked this holiday for me and they should have at least checked out the hotel before booking it for clients. Not a pleasant stay at all. I will not recommend it to anyone - even if you like simple and basic amenities. Cityview is a NO NO!

We were stayed in City View Hotel, Kowloon from Jan 28 - Feb 01 2012. We booked 4 rooms, and we got 2 rooms with conecting door inside. The rooms are spacious. Very comfortable for us, because we still have place to do Shalat (we are moslems).
This hotel is close to MTR station (Yau Ma Tei), close to Ladies market (only takes 5 minutes walking). And there are many shops around this hotel.
The staffs are very nice and helpfull. They will try their best to give us all informations we need to know.
One thing that might be usefull for your guests is free wifi.... :) It will be an astonishing value added to your guest....
If I have another chance to visit HK, I definetely will come back for this City View Hotel, Kowloon.

I stayed at Cityview with my husband and daughter for 7 nights last April 2011, the location was just great, was practically 3 minutes away from the Yaumatei mtr station. Nathan road was also stone throw away so we were able to enjoy shopping even at night and didnt have to worry about transportation to go back to hotel whenever we stayed out late. The reception was helpful and friendly, they even upgraded our room without us asking for it.:) The rooms were clean but a bit small, but then, hotel rooms are generally small in hongkong, and for the price, definitely worth it! It even has a swimming pool, so my husband and daughter can enjoy swimming some nights while i shopped at nathan road.:)
