Been to Chongqing so many times and every time I chose this intercontiental, but this time, it hurt me hardly!

This time, when I arrived the hotel, no one informed me that a municipal construction is in progress around the hotel which could possiblly lead to noises in the night.

Unfortunately, my room was arranged just at the side of construction, you can't feel the noise in the day time, but the night mare came in the night.

just at the 4:00 AM, I was waked up by shock wave of the construction and I called the Front desk, but they just say sorry without any action. moreover, when the second time I called, the staff told me: sir, since you were awake, we recommend you to wrap up you luggage and we can offer you another room!

what a ridiculous service!

and the next morning, when I had breakfast with collegues, we spent 20 minutes to waiting for a cup of coffe!

Great room, overly excellent service. Would come back again.

This newish hotel is hard to fault for short stays, except maybe check in took longer than expected.

The rooms are modern and spacious. Location is excellent in the center of town with shops and eateries near by.

I would stay here again and again everytime I'm in Chongqing.

This hotel is listed as a 5 star but in my opinion it is a really good 4 star. Although the brand name does hold a lot of weight, the hotel was clearly more dated than some other 5 star hotels in China.

The rooms were adequate and had all the amenities and toiletries expected of a 5 star hotel. Service was very good, and I never had a problem with the staff communicating or assisting me. The one problem that some might find as a deterent is the smell in the lobby. Although it was not a constant odour, the smell of a downtown city did linger into the main lobby - which is where the live entertainment/bar is located.

The pool required a swim cap and was quite a distance from the rooms. We didnt swim in the pool for that reason, but it did look very nice.

Room service was decently priced. The main bar provided drinks (overpriced, as expected) and peanuts/chips on the house. The entertainment when we were there was great - female singer and pianist from Europe.

Located in the downtown core, the hotel is walking distance to a shopping mall, grocery market, multiple local food shops/eateries, and was identifiable to most cab drivers with the hotel card. The city of Chongqing is massive, so some cab drivers were unaware of the hotel, but this wasnt a big deal.
