Before writing this review I actually had to fight with myself for selfish reasons.
I knew that if I will write it - it might be harder for me to find reservations in the future. :-)
But as one knows how to fault and complain, one should also know how to compliment and laud.
I stayed at the executive floor, and as such - my review regards the relevant facilities / services .
The hotel is located in a very good spot (depending of course on your reasons for visiting) - taxis are always there and supermarkets / stores / restaurant are practically attached. also very close to the "liberation square" (now sponsored by Rolex)
The room is very cozy and nicely decorated, very large and comfortable bed , a working desk and a sofa / small sitting area .
Bathroom has both bath and a shower , and was spotless.
I did not even open the TV - but i saw that they have HBO and ESPN networks as well as the regular channels. Internet is VERY fast, and also wifi at the lounge.
Since the executive floors start at the 34th floor - there is nice view over the high rises of the city and the bridges on the river (daily smog permitting )
I am not a breakfast guy (Only coffee) but by the looks of it - there will be no problem to anyone finding their flavors at the buffet , which is served at the 39th floor executive club featuring an even nicer view to open the day with.
The Minibar is totally complimentary , and can be asked to refill when desired.
The executive lounge is open until midnight, and has hot and cold drinks, as well as fruits , small cakes or cookies, and even alcoholic drinks in the early evening.
All this was truly overshadowed by the incredible staff.
I am a "hardcore" business traveler, whom on the last 2 years counted more than 650 days in hotel (mainly in Asia) but I can easily say that the staff in this hotel is by far the most efficient, nice, and professional that I have encountered.
Every question, request or inquiry was not only immediately answered by the staff, but was executed a broad smile. (and with a very welcomed rarity in china - excellent English !!)
In fact, the staff impressed me so much, that It even triggered me to send a mail to the manager asking to acknowledge them on my behalf.
the only strange thing at the hotel (and I use "strange" because it is not really a problem) is that the hotel seems to share the buildings with some bureaucratic offices or the likes, so sometimes the elevator stops at the middle, and you feel like in another building/world for 20 seconds ...
Also the entrance is quite small and uninviting, but other than that - everything else was just perfect. No doubt where I will stay from now on when in Chongqing.
