The entrance to the hotel is small for a 5-star hotel but once inside the hardware was pretty good. The room was comfortable and large. Internet access was fast and there was easy wireless coverage in the restaurant. Quality of the coffee during breakfast was disappointing, though.

The hotel is located within walking distance to the Liberation Monument, a landmark in this part of the city and located at the centre of a square designed for pedestrians only.

I had a great deal due to a corporate rate; so no complaint on the price. Overall I must I say I enjoy my stay there.

Conveniently located hotel, within 5 minutes walk of the Jiefangbei shopping area. The hotel is also a short walk from Hongyadong, Jialing and Yangtze river cable cars and other tourist sights. The bar/entertainment area near the Jiaochangkou CRT (monorail) staion is also very close by.
The rooms are large and very comfortable. Plush bathrobes and slippers are provided and are very high quality. Rooms are well appointed with many thoughtful extras, such as LAN plug-in for internet next to the bed (not only on the desk) and an electrical outlet in the wardrobe/closet (nice for charging mobile phone, iPod, etc.). There is also an umbrella provided (for Chongqing's rainy days). There is a good selection of international news and entertainment channels, as well as numerous Chinese channels (including Channel V and MTV).
The large and well designed bathroms have rain showers and a large bathtub.
Service was decent (but by no means exceptional) during my two visits to this hotel.
Housekeeping was quite good however, quickly responding to any requests and cleaning the room quickly every day.
The big selling point is the nice rooms and good value. This hotel is recommended to anyone visiting Chongqing and lookind to stay in the downtown area.

Very good hotel for the material elements: room, location, building

Very poor when it comes to listen to an hotel customer simple need.

After a day walk, my wife and I could not use the long-awaited (pretty good) swimming pool; we were not allowed as customers to swim without a swimming hat (which is fine and we do accept any policy as long as solutions are provided). What we did not accept is the strange tough tone of so-called hotel "management" (police like) of "you have to buy a hat" (by principle, it should be included in room price, or even like in mannay places, few should be available for customer tourists or if you did not have your purse that day with you..., solutions should always be found to satisfy a customer... like we put on hotel bill, like here a spare one, like "yes you could use for once a shower hat" as proposed, like "we are very sorry" but...). By the way, no where when we book, a specific policy was mentionned... So if you use any of their restaurant, make sure the table is included (joke) ;) In fact, it is not such a big deal, it is more the police tone and the "wall", the no-listening attitude, the no-offered-solutions from hotel management that disappointed us deeply than the initial incident.

It took 20 mns to get down our bagages from the room to our taxi. Not acceptable at all.
