This was our first trip to Beijing and looking for a hotel in the "centre" of the main sites that we wanted to visited was ideal for us. We booked two rooms; one with two twin size beds and the other with one double bed. The double bed room was quite small for my parents but it was okay for the price we paid. As for cleanliness it was average, the carpet could be updated.
Note: The beds are hard for those who prefer softer beds. Noise level in the lobby is minimal, if not found it very quiet for us. We were in the upper floor. However, our rooms very facing the back alley and we could hear bottles being loaded to trucks late at night. Air conditioning varied, it was much cooler in our parents room.
Location was perfect for us. We could walk to Forbidden City and walked about two blocks to the railway station. Calling for a cab and waiting for one can be tricky. They are not allowed to stop in front of the hotel. If you called for one, you have to wait out in the street area or else you will miss the driver.
Reception/front desk people were nice. Some do speak English but it can be hard to understand the hotel policy for some travelers. They do require your passports (will scan them) prior to check-in, so don't be alarmed if this happens. You will also required to pay an deposit up front and that will be refunded when you check out.
They also have a dining place inside the hotel which makes it convenient to find something to eat for breakfast; a variety of Western and Asian items are served. The price is a bit high for morning buffet. We couldn't find anything near by in the mornings to eat, so we ate there during our stay (5 days).
Room Tip: Higher floor is better, preferably not facing the back alley.
