“budget option”

Days Inn Forbidden City, Beijing boasts of perfect location, evident from its name. The room was spacious enough for 3* but unbearably cold. When we applied to the reception they gave us extra blankets and turned on the conditioner on 30 degrees. But the bathroom remained cold, you needed courage to step under the shower. Yet, the service worked well, they were ready to help with any problem. So, if you go to Beijing in summer and want to save on hotels, Days Inn Forbidden City does make an option.

“This Hotel ROCKS!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Location:
* Perfect and convenient location
* Bus stop just outside the hotel
* 5-10 mins walk to the subway (Wangfujing and Tiananmen East Station)
* Restaurants, Convenient stores are just along this hotel
* Wangfujing and Donghuamen Night market is just 1 block away! about 10mins walk.

Rooms:
* They have 2 buildings for their rooms.
- Rooms from the lobby side are big.
- Rooms from outside entrance are small.
* rooms are clean but they have this cigarette smell. But, smoking is allowed everywhere in CHina due to the cold weather, especially during winter.

Staff:
* they speak a little of English but most of them are Mandarin speaking.

I am looking forward for another stay in this hotel!

Room Tip: Make sure to get the rooms from the lobby side. As they have enough space.

This is our second time stayed at this hotel. It consisted of two buildings.
Just at the entrance of the Hotel there is an affordable chinese retaurant and nearby shops.
Forbidden city and wangfujing st.- 10min walk opposite
Subway station. - 10 min walk
Tip #1:
Try Ride bus #82, at the bus stop just across the main road of the Hotel - it will take you to Di'anmen Outer St.( you can find shops and Bar at the lake), also taks e you toward the National Stadium. same bus for your return. always check bus schedule at the bus stop
Tip #2:
To Behai Lake- bus #82 to #60,stop at corner of beiheyan and jingshan st.,then ride a bus heading to the direction which crosses the jingshan park. then look for a park.the bus stops in front of the park.

Room Tip: choose a room at the main building

“Hotel near to Forbidden City”

Good hotel with wifi in lobby. Staff are very helpful when arranging for train ticket and local tour. Always choose a room with windows facing the outside as room air cooler is not in operation during winter time and heater are always on.

“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

This was our first trip to Beijing and looking for a hotel in the "centre" of the main sites that we wanted to visited was ideal for us. We booked two rooms; one with two twin size beds and the other with one double bed. The double bed room was quite small for my parents but it was okay for the price we paid. As for cleanliness it was average, the carpet could be updated.

Note: The beds are hard for those who prefer softer beds. Noise level in the lobby is minimal, if not found it very quiet for us. We were in the upper floor. However, our rooms very facing the back alley and we could hear bottles being loaded to trucks late at night. Air conditioning varied, it was much cooler in our parents room.

Location was perfect for us. We could walk to Forbidden City and walked about two blocks to the railway station. Calling for a cab and waiting for one can be tricky. They are not allowed to stop in front of the hotel. If you called for one, you have to wait out in the street area or else you will miss the driver.

Reception/front desk people were nice. Some do speak English but it can be hard to understand the hotel policy for some travelers. They do require your passports (will scan them) prior to check-in, so don't be alarmed if this happens. You will also required to pay an deposit up front and that will be refunded when you check out.

They also have a dining place inside the hotel which makes it convenient to find something to eat for breakfast; a variety of Western and Asian items are served. The price is a bit high for morning buffet. We couldn't find anything near by in the mornings to eat, so we ate there during our stay (5 days).

Room Tip: Higher floor is better, preferably not facing the back alley.
