“luxe rooms in great locations”

Just a 3 night business trip in freezing weather but the standard room was warm, plush and very cosy. Try to find time to enjoy the gorgeous deep bath.
Great breakfast buffet with extensive choice and very good service and standard of English!
Handy location for business and there is a superb restaurant called 1949 about 2 blocks away where we had magnificent roast Peking duck.
If you find this review helpful, please give it a helpful vote. Thanks!

Room Tip: street side for a good city view

“Regent is excellent choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Spent two weeks at the hotel December 2011-January 2012. Great location allows nice walks to Forbidden City, the National Museum, shopping, and the like. Modern with excellent housekeeping and service. My standard room was very comfortable and large enough for an extended stay. Restaurants were excellent and the massive breakfast and lunch buffets provided Western, Chinese, and Japanese offerings. Booking with breakfast is recommended. I liked the calm atmosphere and professional low key service. The piano music in the lobby is a nice touch. Would certainly stay there again.

“Regent Hotel - Nice location and good hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We really enjoyed this hotel. Nice and new with a nice staff and great location located right on line 5 which is a good line to be on for the sights. Would go back.

Room Tip: Good location right on line 5 with a nice bakery across the street for breakfast

“Fantastic location, very clean, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

I have recently returned from a holiday in Beijing where I stayed in the Regent Beijing. The hotel is located in a fantastic spot. You are moments away from the shopping streets, good restaurants and the buzz of the town. You are above all extremely well located for all the main tourist attractions.

The hotel is very clean and the rooms are great and well designed. The bed is comfortable and the room has all the mod cons you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

The hotel has 3 restaurants:
- Breakfast in the cafe is very good. NB: it is probably best to purchase your breakfast from the a la carte menu if you are not a big eater as it will cost you significantly less (buffet is 20 GBP pp). Beware however as ordering tea/ coffee is extremely expensive (circa 10 GBP). If you need coffee, Starbucks is just outside the back of the hotel. It costs a fraction of the prices and is much better. All other prices are acceptable.
- I would not recommend the Italian restaurant. I am part italian and I was not impressed.
- The third restaurant serves chinese dishes from all over the country. This is very good.

Beijing is a huge city so be prepared to walk a lot. If you would rather not walk, a taxi is always easily at hand. The hotel has printed its own 'business card' which presents both the western spelling and chinese spelling of the hotel address which you should keep. When jumping into a taxi just present the card to the taxi driver and he will know exactly where the hotel is located. On the other side of the business card is a list of all the key attractions in Beijing. Tell the hotel staff where you want to go and they will tick the appropriate box so that the taxi driver knows where to take you. This is a great system.

The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful - although it should be noted that english is not widely spoken amongst the staff (including the front desk staff).

The hotel provides free wi-fi connection which is a real bonus - but do watch out as it has a tendency to be a little temperamental and cuts off unexpectedly.
