“Warm, cousy and professional”

Stayed for 3 nights and, frankly, would love to stay a couple of nights more. The service was great - all staff was very attending, polite and was really trying to serve you at best. The language was an issue sometimes, had to use a simplier terms and orders :) The most two best features about this hotel are: 1 - Steack Exchange restaurant with really good stakes (5 out of 5) and original white and dark chocolate dessert-surprise and 2 - Health Club and spa, with all new equipment, good-sized pool and saunas (makes best sense when its cold outside). Very recommend!

Room Tip: Some of the rooms face the street. If you want quiet room - ask for opposite side of the road.

I stayed 4 days beginning go December 2011.
Good room, (although the ones on the main street are a bit noisy)
Rooms are big, the service is great.
They have a really amazing chocolate desert in the steak restaurant.. It's my 3rd visit to this hotel. I would come back again for the desert alone.

Dear jenesaispasqui,

It is always great to receive feedback from valued return guests and read with interest how delighted you were with your 4 nights stay with us. We try to make every effort to provide the best possible service. Your positive comments mean that we are heading in the right direction.

You can have a good view through the large windows overlook the famed Financial Street or the essential Hutong area of Old Beijing by different rooms. Sometimes in the peak time, low-floor rooms facing 2nd Ring Road may a bit noisy, but for the rest of the time, it usually peaceful and quiet since there is a street garden with plenty of flowers and plants between the main road and our hotel.

As you stated, Steak Exchange Restaurant & Bar is renowned as a haven for meat lovers, with prime cuts of the finest 250-day aged Australia Angus Beef charcoal grilled in an open kitchen and our famous and creative desert “White & Dark Chocolate Top Surprise”. We do hope that on your next return trip, you will explore more delicious food in our hotel.

Sincerely

“Beijing Business Trip in November”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

The Hotel is well situated being virtually on the ring road and just a short walk from Fuchengmen Bridge subway station making the hotel convenient for business users and tourists. The subway is the blue circle line which takes travellers near to Tianaman Square and the Forbidden City and if travelling light (subway trains typically very congested particularly at peak times) offers an interchange station to the Beijing airport line. The bedrooms are spacious featuring very comfortable beds and the bathrooms offer a choice of large bath or walk in shower. The hotel offers a swimming pool and gym which I used.
Staff are attentive but language can be a problem as found an "out of date" item in mini bar and when asked for item to be removed was replaced with a further out of date item. However restaurant for both breakfast and dinner offered a good choice and food was of a high standard. First used the Intercontinental Hotel four years earlier and if I return to Beijing again would certainly consider the Intercontinental again.

“Beijing in September”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

We stayed here for the weekend of the Mid-Autumn festival. The taxi ride from the Railway Station didn't seem far, but there was so much traffic it took awhile. We weren't able to take the subway since our train arrived too late. First walking into the lobby, it looks like any other Intercontinental Hotel. The staff seemed nice. We checked in and she gave us our room key. Unfortunately when we went upstairs, our key wasn't working. And then we noticed that the do not disturb light was on! They had given us keys to an already occupied room. It was around midnight so I hope we didn't bother the guest that was already sleeping. We went back to the front desk and after many apologies given a key to an unoccupied room. The room was a decent size. It looked like any other hotel room. The bathroom had the big glass window that served as a separation from the bedroom. We had a view of the highway. I thought it was funny how they had flyers to warn guests to close their curtains at night because of the window washers that come by. The breakfast had a variety of choices. Unfortunately if you arrived later than 8, sometimes the food hasn't been restocked. My only gripe is the cost to use the business center. We needed to print out and fax info to the tour agency. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk to the subway station and there were some restaurants around the area. If you aren't an adventurous eater, McDonalds & KFC are about a 15-20 minute walk. If you feel comfortable carrying your luggage on the subway, I would suggest taking the subway to the train station instead of taking a taxi - so much cheaper.

“Hasnt changed much in the last 3 years”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

Good business hotel in the heart of the finance area. Service is as expected.

Pricey hotel as expected for Beijing. If you happen to work on the other end of the inner ring than traffic can be difficult.

Even with the highest hotel status I certainly didn't feel it. I received all the benefits but there was no effort to personalize.

The door personal have to do a better job at managing the queues for taxi's. Not unusual for the 'foreigners' or at least the foreign looking hotel guests to cut the queue.

The happy hour drinks and canapes were good.
