Very comfortable room, generous breakfast, the room was clean and basic, staff friendlyand lovely position. Enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

The Poly Plaza is in the very heart of Beijing. Only minutes with a taxi to Tiananmen and the San Li Tun night life area around the corner. Inside the hotel is a theater which is hosting all kinds of shows and may be worth a visit.
The hotel itself is a good quality chinese upper class hotel. Do not confuse this with a Shangri-La but then again it will cost less than half in comparison.
The rooms are clean and quiet (ask for a room higher up so you can enjoy the view, given there is any because of the smog) and all offer free internet (but with the usual chinese limitations, so no youtube, etc.).
There are several restaurants in the hotel, although I recommend going out to eat. It will be cheaper and the experience will be much nicer.
Each room has a spacious bathroom and a desk so it's good for some work.
As everywhere in Beijing, staff is very helpful and friendly but most will not speak more than a few words of english.
The beds are great and i caught a good nights sleep after flying in from Europe.

This hotel was nice and clean. We were there for an adoption, so hotel was picked for us. The beds are very hard. My husband and I both had neck ache and back ache while we were there. There are little markets/stores/restaurants close by. It is a convenient location. If you want to take a taxi somewhere they will help write down for the cab driver where you want to go in Chinese. We then would give our return cab driver our hotel key, so they could get us back. The breakfast buffet is good-lots of selection. We were there for over 2 weeks, so eventually we were ready for something new. Overall-good place to stay. The only downside was the hard beds.

This is a nice hotel but beware of the beds-they are as hard as a rock. We did eat a good dinner of beef and noodles downstairs in the restuarant because we were tired after traveling and did not want to venture out so late. There is a Starbucks right across the street but don't plan on drinking your morning cup of Joe early like we do here in the States. They don't open until 8 or so. DO NOT HAVE YOUR LAUNDRY DONE THERE (unless you want to spend a fortune)! Wait until you get to your province. The staff spoke OK english.
