“Newly Opened but that doesn't mean it is nice or clean!”

The Lonely Planet says this hostel is 'newly opened' which misleads you to think it is nice. It may be newly opened but it is old, run down and falling apart.

We stayed there during the Olympics where they were charging a stupid amount per night, the same as some nicer hotels.

The main things for us were, cold showers every day, filthy bathrooms, powder all over the floor (I assume to keep small friends out) and just really run down.

The aircon and TV in our room worked but you really didn't want to spend lots of time there.

To conclude, this place is a dump and I would not stay there again if you paid me!

“unforgettable for the wrong reasons”

Where to start! We booked this hostel for 4 nights after reading a good review in a travel guide and can only conclude that this was shockingly out of date.
We had to change rooms twice and the list of what was wrong with our second room was endless:

No heating (it was November and freezing!)
Windows wouldn't shut (or lock)
When toilet flushed water would run all night
Dripping taps
Bath dirty and not plumbed properly causing mass leaking
Broken floor tile on entrance - very dangerous
Two lights not working (only adding that but it didn't bother us)

We wouldn't normally complain but the accomodation was awful and we hope no one else makes the same mistake. We could understand if it was all clean and most things working but this was no where near the case. We checked out after the 2nd night.

Avoid like the plague!
