“Great Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2007

I went on a tour of Shanghai, Xian and Shanghai. This hotel was great. It had a beautiful lobby and great hotel bar. The rooms were nice and the service in the hotel was excellent. They had the best breakfast buffet of all the hotels I stayed in in China. I would compare it to a nice Marriott or Hilton in America.

“Exactly What you Expect”

This is what I consider a typical international hotel. The beds were very large, albeit incredibly hard. If you live in the U.S. try sleeping on a carpeted floor to get roughly the same feel. The room itself was satsifactory. The television was missing the power button and remote didn't work very well. There were tons of light switches everywhere, including a panel next to the bed. We couldn't figure out what have of them were for. You can't drink the water in the hotel. My wife and I used bottled water to brush our teeth. Breakfast was okay. It's always interesting to see an Asian countries interpretation of a "western" breakfast. The air conditioning did not work at all. We had it set to the lowest possible temperature and it did not come on once. We ended up opening the window as we'd had rather delt with the sound than the heat.

Overall, this is a fine hotel. Nothing really significant to complain about.

I stayed in this dirty hotel for 5 nights , I try to talked w/front desk in Mandarin , to let them know that i am not happy w/the room and wish to change even just a plain double room , but the front desk wont agree , the room is very dark , i cant see things clearly , there is a dining table & chair , but im afraid to sit on it , bec. its dirty . the bedroom is big , but there were no side lamp shade on the side table .
I will never gp back to King Wing again , even if it is free .

“Had a nice time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2006

This hotel was coordinated by our tour company as part of our stay in Beijing. We found this hotel to be very charming and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our rooms were fairly large and were equipped with nice bathrooms (two showers and bathtubs). Pretty much everything was provided in the rooms including mini bar, cable, toiletries etc.. It is however, very true that the beds are very hard! My husband found it very difficult to sleep compared to our plush bed at home.

We ate breakfast every morning at the restaurant in the main lobby. The breakfast was faily good--they provided both Western and Eastern style food. There is quite a combination of foreign tourists who stay at this hotel so they try to serve a variety of food.

The staff was overall pretty friendly. English is faily limited, but not too bad. Currency is exchanged at their front desk which was very convenient.

Overall, we liked our stay very much!

“Hard Rock Beds”

We stayed here two nights with a tour group. The hotel should be a 3.5 rating and not a five. The property is a little faded and worn and located a long distance from the center of Beijing. Virually no English was spoken but since we had translators with us we were okay. But a Spanish group we met had serious difficulty and vowed never to return. Our room was spacious and clean but too warm and faced a noisy street so that opening a window to cool it down turned out badly. Beds are unbeliveably solid concrete. Mini-bar was well stocked and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was a buffet but with a 120 people in our group fully chaotic and especially difficult for non-tour group folk. We don't know what price was paid for our rooms but we think it was on the cheap end. For a tour group it was fine....but I'd elect to stay closer to downtown if I were on my own.
