I stayed two nights at the hotel at their Executive Floor. In fact the rooms are just OK and the hotel overall seems to be already a bit old and might need some renovations. The lunch at the all day dining buffet restaurant is overpriced and quite bad. Better skip since there are much better places close by. The GYM is far away from the rooms and you need to walk to the shopping arcade first to get there. Overall I would not return since there are so many better hotels for the same price in Beijing.

The Metropark is a fine western style hotel. Most of the staff, especially the front desk is fluent in English and they were very helpful. The rooms are large and clean and offer an in room safe, hot water pot, for tea or coffee, refrigerator and of course the mini bar. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom is large and well maintained. The located nearby are many western restaurants and cafés. There is a mini bazar down the street that offers some good deals on everything from DVD’s to dresses. The taxi service to downtown Beijing sightseeing cost between 35 to 50 RNB depending which cab service you use, (recommend flagging one down on the street for lower cost, then the one arranged by the hotel). The rate included breakfast, with choice of western or traditional Chinese foods, which were all fresh and delicious. I would stay there again.

I like the Lido, It is a nice place to hang out. There are great bars, shops and I heard a bowling alley but did not see that - It is like a small village in the place. I was told there were some Beijing HISO people there TV stars etc - unfortunately I did not recognize them and I am sure they would not recognize me either. I spent 3 great nights there and cannot fault it.

I stayed in this great hotel with my wife in early November for 5 nights. Not speaking Chinese, we felt a little vulnerable about how we would get along. We needn't have worried! The staff couldn't do enough to ensure that we were being looked after, and that included help on getting around. The rooms were immaculate and the hotel faciliies that included a heated in-door pool with incredible 1930's Hollywood decor, jakuzi, sauna, steam room, gym, shops, a range of restaurants, pub & coffee shops, well the list goes on, all added up to a fantastic experience. We would have no hesitation coming back & of course recommending this excellent hotel to our friends.
