I travel to China about four times a year and typically stay over in Beijing to refresh before the long flight back to the USA. I have tried several hotels in Beijing, but keep coming back to this hotel. The rooms are very nice and the service is great. Great work area in rooms. The staff tries very hard to remember your name from visit to visit. Once in awhile I will stay on an executive floor where there is a very nice lounge to relax. Plan for a forty taxi ride from the airport, and plan for an hour on a weekday morning back to the airport. Public transportation is near by or grab a taxi to see other sites in Beijing. The Olympic Park is a short 5 minute walk and a great place to run if you travel with your gear. The hotel has several restaurants, one of which is a Brazilian BBQ.

I had to stay here again for a conference and i almost forgot i was there before till i got to the familiar front desk. The check-in was average, if a little slow. The corridors and room is quite dated, seems at least a decade old. The desk chair had its back falling off, and the door lock is stiff with age for example. The internet was also down for a few hours 1 day and it's not good if you have a lot of work to do. The toilet is small, and no standing shower stall. I don't know if they have a view of the olympic park and buildings since it's so close, but my rooms certainly didn't have a view. At breakfast, they at least show you to your seats, but when you ask for your beverage (coffee or tea), it doesn't arrive. They have a helpful 2 atms in the lobby for your cash needs. I'll try not to stay here next time if i can help it, i's rather return to my regular overrated park plaza

I usually stay here the majority of my trips to Beijing, and although there are hotels which have nicer rooms and more luxurious common areas and amenities, for the price you pay for rooms at this hotel, it's an almost unbeatable "price/performance" ratio. Don't get me wrong, it's not that the rooms aren't nice, but the rooms (at least the rooms on non-exec floors, as I've never stayed in an exec room) are a bit worn down and not up to absolute top modern class when compared to similar rated hotels (even in the same Hotel Group - some newer Crowne Plaza's and Holiday Inn's have nicer rooms).

The buffet restaurant is huge and serves excellent food 24 hours a day. The breakfast is particularly good, in my opinion - if not the best buffet breakfast I've had at a hotel in Beijing, at least among the top 3.

Service is excellent, everyone is very nice and attentive to your needs. I've never had any problems with room booking, room internet, or anything that required escalation or anything, so I can't judge how good or flexible they are in the face of problems.

I stayed here twice on business last week, each stay less memorable than the other. Located very close to the Olympic Village, on the plus side, only a 10 minute walk from the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. Rooms are adequate but it's like stepping into something from the 70's as far as the bathroom is concerned. I probably should have upgraded to the Executive Room but as my Chinese colleague was footing the bill........

Buffet breakfast was an outrageous 225 RMB with tax, absolutely not worth the money. You can order in room breakfast for half the price and stay in the comfort of your room!!! On my penultimate day, even after being out of the room early to join a sightseeing tour, I was still disturbed at seven thirty in the evening to have the min-bar replenished, asked about turn down service and called to check if I'd enjoyed my room service meal and put the tray outside. I'm hoping not to stay here again and will try to steer my Chinese friends to another hotel.
