The hotel is conveniently located, near the Beijing railway station, Qianmen shopping street and Tiananmen Square. There is a metro station (Chongwenmen, lines 2 and 5) just in front of the hotel. The hotel room and public spaces were clean and well kept, but a bit dated and definitely showing their age. I stayed at this hotel 10 years ago and it doesn't seem to have changed at all.
We booked a room on the executive floor and there is a private check-in on the executive floor and a very nice buffet breakfast (many western and Asian choices) served in the executive lounge. Free wifi is available throughout the hotel.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel, as the location is very convenient and the hotel is a good value.

We had a great week at this hotel in Beijing. It is close to subway, the rooms are modern and clean, the staff are helpfull and with a good English (they help me with restaurant reservations and schedule with the trains) - awesome concergiere. We just had an isolated problem at the late check-out (we left at morning and when we came back to the room, it was already been cleaning - so we had no privacy or time to take a bath before our flight).

The hotel was fine however I think the hard wood floor would be softer than the bed. We took the blanket and the comforter and the extra blanket from the closet to put under us so the bed was tolerable.

We stayed 3 nights at Novotel Xinqiao Beijing. Quick check in, nice bedroom with amenities (shampoo, slippres, body lotion, etc), coffe/tea in the room, 24 hour room service, cable TV. Sheets and towels clean. Right across the hotel there is a shopping mall with supermarket in the basement.
Staff very friendly. Breakfast very good, with lots of choices, either chinese and western options.
