I had booked a room because my meeting took part in the hotel - it was a huge mistake.
This is an old style Chinese hotel - the rooms are small, the food is bad and the service is non existent. There weren't any maps in English.
I went out for every meal and in the evening I noticed that taxi drivers were reluctant to take you there (it's difficult to get to despite its 'central' location with great views over 12 lanes of road).
The hotel offers reflexology, I went along and I left after someone came with a plastic bowl of hot water with 'aromatic' tea bags to aid relaxation prior to the massage.
There are lots of wonderful hotels in Beijing - this is one to avoid.

Had the misfortune of staying here when my flight to Bangkok got canceled.
This was my 3rd time in Beijing T3 and they hold a 100% record of making me miss my connecting flight!!!!
Beijing's new T3 has to be one of the worst designed new airports in the world, whoever designed it wants lining up in front of a firing squad and severely shooting!
Back to the hotel review.... a typical Chinese hotel which masquerades as a western style hotel.
Rooms are outdated and not particularly clean, the one redeeming item of note was free wired internet.
Food was average, the staff on a whole however are very good.

Recently stayed in this hotel for a week in March 2009.
We got a discounted rate at 350RNB per night which was an absolute bargain. The hotel rooms are large and clean and although right on a junction of a busy highway the windows are well double glazed and didnt hear a thing. The bar in the hotel was closed for renovation but looked as though it had been closed for years but you could get drinks in the lobby restaurant & seating area. The rate included use of gym & pool which were both good. There are 3 restaurants, the ones we used were good and reasonably priced. The business centre computers work well although the internet charge outrageous at 10RMB per minute, Although slightly out of the city (handy for the airport 80RMB away)) and not much around the hotel, there are restaurants near the Hilton about a 15minute walk away or a cab to downtown is only 12/13RMB. I would stay here again especially if the rates stay the same.

Didn't know what to expect as we hadn't been to China before. Pleasently surprised. Room was clean and bathroom well stocked with all the necessities.
Breakfast was buffet with plenty of choice.
If you go for the massage in the basement make sure you carry cash ... they would not take credit card or charge it to the room.
Swimming pool ... a swimming cap must be worn but they do not supply them ... take your own.
