Again stayed here due to its location with a factory I visit. Its just so bad. Luckily I have travelled to other hotels this trip and they are just so much better at everything. The foyer: cold with now a cheap xmas tree. Srange organ xmas tunes two only i think repeated over and over on a PA system with leads trailing everywhere, Rooms: airconditioning STILL doesnt work in either my room or my colleagues. Food:breakfast cold and bacon just pure fat. Not much choice unless you are chinese. Stayed at the Kempinski in town for two nights after this its so much better and closer in town if you are a tourist. The Pullman is an hour away from town if there is no traffic and there will be! you won't be able to get a taxi back as its so far down they won't take you. The pool is still empty and the gym is in a basement and dark with hardly any equipment, dont stay here save yourself and stay anywhere but here. We have repeatedly complained but the management just dont care they have no idea how to run a hotel. Appalling.

The hotel is located quite a long way from the city but is good for those in the Southern part of Beijing. Facilities are good generally but unfortunately many of them seem to be quite often closed, such as the pool and the Italian restaurant. No real entertainment places nearby for foreigners, so if you want a night out you need to get a taxi into Beijing proper.
The staff try to be helpful but have some limited training and English skills which can provide some difficulties for guests. However there are always some people there with good English.

I booked on line, had to change my travel dates and hotel staff wouldn't hear of accomodating the changes and took all the money anyways. That was enough for me to stop going to this hotel ever again, and I travel to Beijing frequently.

I stayed in the Pullman South from Nov. 1 - Nov.4. The purpose of my trip was business, and the hotel is very conveniently located to the factory I was visiting. My overall experience was good, but not excellent. The room was very nice, the king-size bed was very comfortable, but the room lacked some amenities you expect in a hotel that is supposedly 5-star. There was no clock or radio inside the room. They also should try to get more English-speaking channels on their TV. They only offered CNN, BBC & Discovery channels. For a hotel that is supposed to cater to the western business traveller, they should have more options. There was insufficient drawer space to put your clothing and undergarments in. I had to leave most of my stuff in my suitcase, as there are no cabinets to place them in. There is a closet for hanging clothes, but no where to place socks, undergarments, etc. The A/C was marginal, it barely cooled the room down. The shower stall had mold and mildew in the corners, and the drain was vey slow. After showering, there was about 1.5 inches of standing water which took 15 minutes to drain. The hotel itself is very nicely decorated. The restaurant downstairs had a fairly typical breakfast buffet (which was included with the room price). There were scrambled and fried eggs, bacon (undercoooked), sausage (chicken), and other traditional western fare such as toast and cereal. Lunch and dinner buffets were also average, neither terrible or great. Also, there was a lot of construction all around the area. I could hear the piledriver across the street at 3 a.m. every morning. All in all, it was a pleasant stay, but not of a 5-star quality that the hotel advertises. I would stay there again just for the convenience of the location next to my factory.
