stayed in this hotel for about 1.5 weeks. probably the worst stay for my business travel so far.
1) Room
requested for a non-smoking room at point of booking. Upon check in, they gave me a smoking room. Spoke to the front desk twice (2 dibut was told there's no more availability of non-smoking room. Finally spoke to the booking manager, was told the same thing about non-availablity of non-smoking room. Held on to the conversation for another 15min, and told them i have asthma attack and only then, they represented that they managed to "squeeze out a non-smoking room".
2) Lobby Lounge
Ordered coke and requested for ice cubes. Was told off by the waitress in chinese " There's no ice cubes. The coke is already cold, why do you still need ice cubes". She gave me a stare and walked off."
3) Subway
Absolutely no where near to the mrt station. Website represented that it's like 5min walk. In reality is definitely about 15min. And given Beijing air condition no one will enjoy the 15min walk to the subway.
4) Location
Not near to anything (dining, supermarkets). And the ridiculous thing is that the hotel supermarket sells soft drink at RMB30. Apparently trying to rib off the guests since there's no shops/supermarkets nearby. Its about 45min-1hr (depending on traffic) to get to town, very difficult to get a cab from town back to hotel as most taxi driver refuse to get into 5th ring room. As such, if your office is not near Pullman, please don't stay in Pullman.

Dear Catherine,
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback.
I am sorry to read that you experience with us was not as enjoyable as it should have been.
We are aware of the fact that there is still room for improvement at our Hotel and you are priving us with precious help by sharing your concerns.
I acknowledge the fact that your non-smoking preference should have been respected on check-in. I can assure you that we do our best to respect those preferences, but it happens that when the hotel is really busy, we cannot always do so. I have personally checked in our system, and I found out that the occupancy was extremely high when you stayed with is in July. Morevoer, the mix of smoking / non-smoking guests is never really the same and does not necessarily match our floors division. I am, however, happy to read that our staff made it happen for you when you mentionned your asthma issues, since your health and safety are priority matters for us.
The waitress should definetly have given you ice-cubes if you wanted some. This issue has been mentionned to our Director of Food & Beverages.
As far as the subway station is concerned, I am afraid you didn't go to the right station or were given wrong directions, which is also our fault anyways. The Rongchangdongjie station is indeed 5 minutes walking from our Hotel, but I can understand that given the summer heat it might have seemed longer to you.
I understand your concerns regarding our location. It is true that the BDA area is still growing and there will definetly be more shopping/dining venues in the near future. For your information, our hotel shop is not manager by us, it belongs to another company which sets the prices. We have, though, told them that the prices may be too high on drinks and food.
However, the is a shop right behind our hotel, about 2 mns walking, which sells drinks at the local price.
We are operating in the BDA area precisely because most of our guests are working close to the hotel, and it is very convenient for them to stay with us hence avoid the city centre hectic traffic. But you are very right to point out that, if you do not have any business to do in the area, it does not make sense to stay here.
The closest and most popular entertainement area in Beijing is Sanlitun and it is actually 30 mns driving from our Hotel, obviously depending on traffic but there is hardly any jam on the highway.
Once again, thank you for your comments. I would also like to apologize on behald of Pullman Beijing South Management and Accor for your experience with us.
Best Regards
