As almost everywhere in China, very helpful staff. Conveniently located near subway. Hotel looks a bit outdated, shows some wear and tare in the lobby. Low rise. Walking distance from Silk Market. Coffee can be had in adjoining Starbucks.

Good location but not clean at all. Doesnt exist non-smoking rooms. Even they sait the room is non-smoking. You will find that out yourslef when you get to room.

Nice smaller hotel with cosy rooms and good prices. Not the most modern interior but clean and friendly place. Very attentive staff

I had been to Beijing for a week from Nov 13 to Nov 20 (first time), and having gone there, I realized that I could not have probably chosen a better or more convenient hotel than Jianguo. The hotel is in a very convenient location with a subway station right next to it. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The hotel staff are very nice, and some people can understand/converse in English. They were very helpful with our queries for directions, sightseeing, etc. Breakfast is excellent and even vegetarians like me had a good amount of choice! There are very good restaurants in the neighborhood (incl Ganges, an Indian restaurant). It is very close to shopping areas like the Silk market, Wangfujing street and is just a couple of subway stations away from Forbidden City/Tiananmen square. To summarize, I had a great stay at Jianguo and would definitely stay there when I visit Beijing next time.
