We booked this hotel in a hurry as we arrived sooner in Beijing than expected. The taxi driver had some difficulties understanding where the hotel was, even though it was pretty close to the railway station. We needed to call the reception on our mobile phone, and then it went very quickly.
The hotel looks modern, it is very clean and very well equipped. The rooms are nice, the walkways are outdated, giving us an impression of China during the 1980s or so. But, it is very clean.
Breakfast is mainly Chinese style, but abundant.
All in all ... very satisfied with the quality.
Somehow we felt this hotel was slightly overpriced.

One important remark though : beware of the Riksha drivers ! The taxi in front of the hotel wouldn't drive us to thef Forbidden City not so far from the hotel, and pointed us to two Riksha's. Those not only charged us 300 Y for a three minute drive, they dropped us off half way. Knowing a regular taxi ride will cost you 30 to 40 Y..... This is a major rip off !

We stayed here as part of the package deal for the Great Wall of China Marathon May 2011.
The hotel was perfectly adequate with good rooms and furnishings, however there was a major communication problem at check in and check out with some of the group waiting up to 45 minutes to be checked in. We fortunately had a english speaking 'driver' from our trip from the airport who had accompanied us into the lobby and was able to speed us through the formalities ($200 rmb desposit at check in which you get back on check out if you haven't distroyed anything). Just around the corner is a nice 'done up' street with a cable car and fancy shops - so nice and clean and McDonalds there also.
Easy walk to T Sqaure, Temple Heven and the Silk Factory or taxi is very cheap also.
Overall - good clean, comforatable hotel.
Main road side room - very noisy due 'honking of horns' all day and night - back of building rooms very quiet.

A good hotel for the Forbidden City. Big drawback... very little English spoken, which made it quite difficult at times. The staff were very friendly and did their best to help. They wrote down the name of our destination for us and went out of their way to get us taxis. The linen and bathroom were very clean, but carpets did not seem to have been hoovered. There were plenty of toiletries in the bathroom and a hairdrier in the room. The breakfast was mostly Chinese style, though there was an attempt made to cater for Western tastes. Dinner was good value. Don't look at the carpet, especially near the entance to the kitchen!!! Kitchens were on view behind a perspex screen and looked clean.

Room fantastic, with a bed which would have slept four people and a fantastic wetroom as a bonus. The hotel was quiet, enabling easy sleep. The lobby with its wall of water was a soothing place to sit to write and water was brought to me from the tea house after I had sat for a while. Good service.
The restaurant English breakfast was ok but limited. Cereals were available, boiled eggs (hard) plus a toaster and makings. Had to ask for a metal teaspoon every day. I found the coffee undrinkable though and the ice cubes in the juice containers were rarely replaced once the early morning rush had passed.
The restaurant had a pleasant setting but the carpet area leading to the kitchen was filthy. Pieces of extra carpet had been laid over the dirty areas creating a health and safety issue.
Waitresses very engaging and pleasant although English limited. Usually one good speaker per shift.
