“Dated hotel; less than perfect service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

I booked because of the low price. I spent part of my trip here and checked out midway to find better accommodations at a slightly higher price. The Junglun is quite a bit outdated. The room I was in had a few issues: moldy bathroom (most every caulk seam in the bathroom was moldy), inconsistent guest towels (many of the towels were heavily worn, had holes in them, or weren't fully white), inconsistent guest laundry service (shirts sent to hotel laundry came back not perfectly pressed [still a little bit wrinkled], and all garments still had annoying serial number laundry sticker tags in them - most hotels remove those before sending clothes back to your room), incredibly hard bed (I saw other reviewers mention this before - but I really didn't believe them until I experienced this myself). The breakfast was included in my particular room rate - it was an acceptable spread of western and asian food.

“Great location and good value with breakfast”

I spent a 7 nights for business and found the location to be very central for my needs.

Location to attractions like the silk market, tieneman square and forbidden city made it easy to fit in multiple trips to each.

Business level had English speakers and accommodating staff.

Rooms are nice size and amenities. Down side is the hvac system. Isn't great. Sometimes difficult to get a cab. Otherwise all around solid hotel value.

“Clean and friendly staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

The hotel is close to the business district and in walking distance to the Silk Market and big shopping malls like the Plaza. Also close to the underground. In the morning or when it is raining it can be a bit difficult to get a cab and I could not make reservation for the next morning. Try to get a good deal over the internet - when phoning you do not even get the "more-than-3-nights-stay-discount". I also found the breakfast quite costly with 135 RMB (went to Starbucks 1 minute away). There is a coffe maker with real coffee in the room (one cup free each day) while they charge you app. 1 USD for a tea bag. The tv is also a pc - remember no Facebook in China and Google only in the Hong Kong version. My room was very claen but a bit worn out (5022). It was to the back - so it was very quiet. My aircon worked fine (in November you need it for heating), while my colleageus did nit work.

Room Tip: Ask for a room to the back.

“Jinglun hotel, Beijing”

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times over a number of years. We like the rooms and the location. The breakfast is also very good. The dinner buffet is just OK.

Room Tip: rooms on the back side, not facing the main road are better. rooms on the 11th floor have better am...

“Half a world away..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

The Jinglun Hotel in China was beautiful, very accomadating staff, rooms were clean and very nice. The location is excellent, very close to the Pearl Market, Silk Market. It was maybe 3 blocks within walking distance from the hotel. It have a Pizza Hut attached that offered a variety of food, (not all pizza) which was very good. We only stayed a couple of days due to our main purpose was for shopping, so we didnt get to explore the hotel all that mu what we did see was very lovely. They off a McDonalds for breakfast, Starbucks and Subayway all within walking distance for those that don't want to leave American cusine altogether. There are plenty of Chinease resturants close by to choose from also.
