Our apartment was tastefully and comfortably furnished with a lovely outside patio which overlooked Mombasa Island. The overall decoration was a little jaded: bathroom and kitchen areas were in need of refurbishment and a bath with shower over would have been better than the makeshift shower unit.
As a fully equipped apartment, I thought that a small washing machine would have been available and although the hotel arranged for a laundry service I thought the prices very high. A welcome hospitality basket was provided but the contents limited to a couple of tea bags, coffee sachets, nuts and sweets, this meant that a walk to the supermarket after a long days travel was required. The gardens and pool areas were a tropical paradise and the harbour cafe a reasonably priced venue for meals.
The staff were all very friendly and polite but of limited help when asked about suggestions for a good Indian curry restaurant in the area.
The three nights we spent at Tamarind Village were relaxing and enjoyable.
