“Rekero magic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

I have now been to Rekero 8 times and wouldn't stay anywhere else in the main Maasai Mara Reserve. Why? It's not just about the location, which is unbeatable, or about the fantastic game viewing close to camp. Every guest is made to feel welcome and special at Rekero - not just by the managers and guides, but by all the team. The tents overlooking the Talek river, the service and food are all first-class. What could be better than listening to the sounds of the African night in such a beautiful setting? Great for families, couples and people travelling by themselves.

Room Tip: All tents are on the river bank.

“An amazing experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We have recently spent three nights at Rekero Camp. The experience was best summed up by saying that it is our second trip there - the first time was so good we didn't even consider staying anywhere else in the Mara when we went the second time. The guides were amazing and we saw fantastic game (both times). The accommodation is excellent, food amazing and staff so friendly. Highly recommended

“Rekero, the place to relax!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Although we only stayed a day, in between other camps, Rekero had a magical touch to it! The beautiful view over the river, a short distance from us hippos having a great time and on the drive there 2 of these majestic animals: the rhinos! The tents are very comfortable while giving you the real bush feeling, with each a view as if you are on your own in the wild. A great camp to adapt to the pace of the animals around you!

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Rekero. Cannot see how anyone would want to stay anywhere else on the Mara. Great spot; great staff; great food, and wonderful game drives from minute 1 in the jeep

“Spectacular safari and accommodations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

My husband and I joined 10 other fellow photographers on the most spectacular safari! We stayed for 5 nights in Rekero Camp in the Masaai Mara National Reserves. The accommodations and camp facilities were wonderful! From the first day to the last, we were treated very well! We were greeted on the first day with pineapple juice (full of pulp-yummy!) and each afternoon when we returned from the bush, we were able to wipe our hands and faces with warm washcloths steeped in eucalyptus! Doesn't get much better than that! The beds were very comfortable. Our tent was on the bank of the river and we could observe animals in the distance as they grazed. The service we received was first-class and completely exceeded our expectations! The dining tent faced the river; however, breakfast and lunch were served along the river bank. We were able to see the wildebeest crossing the river and an occasional hippo rise from the water. From morning until night, our time was planned to take advantage of the animals that roam the Mara. The scouts/guides led us to the best sites for photography and just observing the wildlife. We were able to see lions (including one named Notch) napping and eating, lionesses hunting, and 3 2-month old cubs. We also had an opportunity to fly over the animals; Risa was one of the guides who flew with us (a 4-seater; Risa's first trip on an airplane). I have never been pampered as well anywhere I have traveled. Even the camping was luxurious with warm showers and flush toilets. Nothing was left to chance; these are first-class accommodations. After 6 days, leaving Rekero was like leaving my family. I must admit that I got quite emotional, because the staff became friends. I look forward to the time when I can return.
