Obviously a much grander hotel in past, the lobby and reception area were very well appointed with brilliant chandeliers, burgundy velvet upholstery, wood paneling, marble flooring and pillars - very fancy. There is a small bar on the far side of the lobby where you can get drinks for a reasonable price. The swimming pool was very nice, plenty of comfy lounge chairs to sit and read and a beautiful view of the Luxor Temple from the rooftop. Breakfast was included and was served on the rooftop as well. It was simple fare: good coffee, toast & jam, cheese, tomato, cucumber. We were there for 3-nights. All in all, very good value for money.
Location was quite handy. A few blocks from the Luxor Temple. The touristic market is up the street to the left; or turn right and wander through the local market where you'll find the vendors pretty much leave you alone to browse (fruits, clothing, spices, clothing, textiles, household items).
Bring earplugs, they are the solution to drivers honking their horns into the wee hours and the cacophony of early morning prayer calls.
