We stayed here as part of our cruise ,we were on the 6th floor and the room was fantastic ,the toilet is to die for the power shower is also a saunna and the jaquzzi bath even has mood lighting under the water .. the toilet seat heats the minute you sit on it and flushes automatically when you rise ..lol you have a flat screen tv quite large as well and an enormous bed .Our bbalcony was a side view onto the nile which you could sit and watch the river boats go up and down. The food was plentyful and delicious and staff were very friendly ..

fantastic hotel clean friendly and great security on entrance
being my first visit to egypt it was a culture shock with regards to tipping etc not at the hotel but everywhere else.after 2 days got used to it and visited many attractions by using local taxi drivers they are cheap and very safe they even wait for you or pick you back up later at the same spot obviously agree a price and pay at the end of the trip
other guests can give you an idea of price because many of them have been to the hotel and luxor before.i even took a taxi to aswan to see the dam, being naive i didnt think it would take 4 hrs to get there. although it was a scary drive with check points etc our driver was brilliant he looked after us the whole day.we saw sights we would never have seen,people going about their daily lives children playing etc.sugar factories and even saw camels which had just been bought at a local market sitting quitely in a small pick up truck 3 camels!
I LOVED EGYPT AND AM DEFINATELY GOING BACK. THE PEOPLE ARE FANTASTIC

We stayed at the Sonesta at the end of January to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. We booked into a front Nile view room which is well worth the extra cost. The rooms have tea and coffee making facilities with tea and coffee sachets topped up as required. The flatscreen TV show a few English channels with movies. The bathrooms have a jacuzzi bath, shower, hairdrier and scales which come in handy for weighing your luggage before you go home. Bedding was changed daily as were the towels. The pool area has plenty of sunbeds and you must try the hot tubs at the side of the pool. We celebrated our anniversary at the Miyako Japanese restaurant which is probably the best in Luxor. It's quite expensive by Luxor standards but it was a special occasion. Breakfast was very nice with a good selection and coffee topped up faster than you could drink it.

We have just returned from a week's holiday in Luxor and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sonesta St George Hotel. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean with bedding changed daily and fresh towels twice a day. There was a wide choice of both hot and cold food for breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice in plentiful supply.
The staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly - in particular the pool side staff who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
All in all a wonderful stay - we would definitely stay here again!
