I stayed 2 nights here in November 2011. The hotel is basic and clean, OK for people who are in Aswan for a few days to see the town and sights accessible from Aswan, not to hang around the hotel and enjoy the amenities. The 2-bed room is clean and comfortable enough, with private bathroom and AC. Basic breakfast is served on the roof top, and there are computers in the basement for guests to use (for a very small fee). I like the proximity to the souk but it is also the drawback because the noise level is very high into the early morning. I made the mistake of embarking on the 15-minute walk from train station through the souk upon arrival on train at noon, instead of taking a taxi to the hotel. It was a very hot and miserable walk with the luggage. I’d advise everybody to pay the 5 Egyptian Pounds and save yourself the misery. There are many eating places and stores in the hotel area. Locals are friendly and it is quite safe to be out walking about after dark. Shop owners are not aggressive, but the felucca captains can be annoyingly persistent. Main reason why I picked this hotel is the low-cost tours they could arrange. I took the Abu Simbel tour and the 1-way drive from Aswan to Luxor, stopping at Kom Ombo and Edfu on the way. Both were comfortable, well-organized, and at a price lower than what other fellow travelers on the same mini van had paid to their hotels. I would recommend this hotel on the basis of the low-cost tours they offer.
