“Not sure what to say.......”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

Its clean, its painted, its has good service, it has wifi (albeit slow with limited coverage), it has security cameras, it has limited secure parking, its central, its has an excellent breakfast plate. After all that i'm a bit put off by the price. It seems to be twice the price of other hotels in town. So although i think its a reasonable hotel to stay in if you are in Aswan would you be better in one of the other hotels for a lot less money??? i'm not sure. The rooms have a safe which is welcomed and the hotel has a strict no guest policy for none residents. There is one parking space for a car outside with cameras and enough room for a couple of motocycles. Ideal for overlanders.

“Good and Central”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

Hotel located opposite entrance to Souk (you can walk from this entrance through the souk all the way to the train station) and near the river bank. Room was basic but clean with good air-cond. Booked the Abu Simbel tour from hotel and everything went without a glitch. Given a breakfast box as had to leave at 2.30am for the tour.
Will definitely return.

Stayed here 2 nights with the wife and 2 year old. This was the only place we saw in town. Ask to see a couple rooms. The first was windowless, the second somewhat better. En-suite room was clean with AC , if small and uninspiring. Everything worked. Front desk could have been a little less aloof and more helpful.

“Jail house”

I didn't like anything about this hotel excepting the fact that the cars they hired for us was good and the rates are very reasonable. The windows face towards the back of another room and you can touch the walls when you put your hand outside. Their wasn't any air circulation inside the room and you always feel claustrophobic. The lighting was just like slums with low powered tube lights the only source of illumination and the toilet had no space to move about and there was spillage inside the room when you had a bath. One of our twin bed broke on the 2nd day and there was no replacement and both of us had to lie on a single bed. The breakfast was bad the coffee shop on the rooftop served us a cup each of coffee about an hour after placing the order. None of the workers seems to be interested in working and you will feel as if they are doing you a favour. The reception was dirty and the most horrible part was that they kept a no of birds which littered the whole area with bird droppings. Just simply disgusting.

Room Tip: Stay out of this hotel. You can have better deals.

“compact, clean and friendly - and don't forget your swimming costume!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2011

I would highly recommend anyone looking for a good value hotel in Aswan. The rooms were small, but the staff were VERY friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean.

Positives:
- quiet location, down a side street, so we slept very peacefully
- comfortable matresses - much better than in other hotels of the same price in Egypt
- clean rooms
- friendly, honest staff
- nice breakfast! Usually breakfast in budget Egyptian hotels consists of eggs, processed cheese and bread, but here there were pancakes, fruit salad, freshly squeezed juice, real coffee and toast. And the waiting staff were lovely.
- the rooftop terrace is delightful, especially in the evening when it is lit up with fairy lights
- there is even a small swimming pool (not big enough to swim, so only for cooling off) - unfortunately I forgot my swimming costume so couldn't try it out, but it looked nice and clean
- good security - CCTV, staff always on duty, good location
- perfect location in town, right in the middle, but away from the noise

Negatives:
- the rooms were very small (but then if you're here to see the sights, that needn't be a problem!)
- the WIFI signal was quite weak in the rooms. It was free though, so can't really complain. I went down to reception one night where the signal was stronger, and the manager brought out an extra air-con unit to make it more comfortable
- the air-con unit in the room was old and noisy, especially as it had to work so hard in the 45-degree August heat!

Room Tip: We had room 212, which was set back from the road even further, so very quiet.
