I would highly recommend anyone looking for a good value hotel in Aswan. The rooms were small, but the staff were VERY friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean.
Positives:
- quiet location, down a side street, so we slept very peacefully
- comfortable matresses - much better than in other hotels of the same price in Egypt
- clean rooms
- friendly, honest staff
- nice breakfast! Usually breakfast in budget Egyptian hotels consists of eggs, processed cheese and bread, but here there were pancakes, fruit salad, freshly squeezed juice, real coffee and toast. And the waiting staff were lovely.
- the rooftop terrace is delightful, especially in the evening when it is lit up with fairy lights
- there is even a small swimming pool (not big enough to swim, so only for cooling off) - unfortunately I forgot my swimming costume so couldn't try it out, but it looked nice and clean
- good security - CCTV, staff always on duty, good location
- perfect location in town, right in the middle, but away from the noise
Negatives:
- the rooms were very small (but then if you're here to see the sights, that needn't be a problem!)
- the WIFI signal was quite weak in the rooms. It was free though, so can't really complain. I went down to reception one night where the signal was stronger, and the manager brought out an extra air-con unit to make it more comfortable
- the air-con unit in the room was old and noisy, especially as it had to work so hard in the 45-degree August heat!
Room Tip: We had room 212, which was set back from the road even further, so very quiet.
