This is a great value, clean and comfortable hotel, right in the heart of the town. The staff are really friendly and Aco is a really helpful tour guide who can arrange all tours of the area at really good prices. They certainly made sure I had everything I wanted in my room (and I was in their cheapest option) and they'll store any valuables in their hotel safe.

I'm not being paid by anyone to write this account, but I stayed here in May 2012 and found it to be the best value place in town. Watch out for one of the other so-called budget hotels mentioned in Lonely Planet, as they've now put their prices up to a minimum of US$23 for their cheapest room!

Rooms are no where near Western Standards for a 1 star. Very expensive compared to rest of Egypt but very good tour packages. Because of the lack of tourism, person who works at front desk takes care of most tours for Aswan. He combines tours with others and has last minute deals. Great tour prices. Stay 1 night for Abu Simble or fellucca but buy your transportation elsewhere.

There are some bad comments about this hotel. But the comments were all written a few years ago. And when I stayed at this hotel in November 2011, everything was good so I could feel comfortable there. In particular, they offered me a room for so inexpensive price. Also, I had a good tour for the Abu Simbel arranged for reasonable price.
The apologizes added by the hotel's owner to the bad comments are true, I think.
I recommend the hotel.
