We stated here one night before we got on a Nile cruise. It was and in and out night with a very early rise. Not much to write about . Very basic, Little old looking, Staff was alittle indifferent.

The star rating in Egypt is arbitrary. So don't even bother checking the rating. This hotel was fairly upscale once but it quite rundown today. We stayed in a room with a view of ducts. The bathroom are not modern. You need to turn on a water heater above the toilet to take a hot shower. The water takes a while to heat so hopefully you're not in a rush. We had our laundry done by the hotel and it came back clean and well pressed if somewhat sandpaper-like from the hard water. That service was reasonably priced.

The best feature of the hotel is the rooftop cafe. They serve good strong tea and offer amazing views of the Nile.

We stayed 1 night which was about my limit. A passable stopover but not place to use as a base.

For the first time in our lives my husband and I walked out of a hotel.
As independent traveler, we have slept in some pretty shabby places, we are the adaptable types, and are not at all obsessed with hygiene, but only in this case did we feel we really had to leave. The hotel was really over priced, they charged us $120. (in Egypt you can sleep in beautiful hotels for $30 a night!). The rooms were extremely dirty, the building felt as if it were falling apart, the bathrooms were small, uncomfortable and filthy, there was debris on the terrace,but most of all, the sheets felt as if they had never been washed (we found hairs from private parts and other suspicious things in the bed) The staff were not unkind, and the nile views were nice, but don't stay there! Even if it's the last room available in Aswan!

If u just stay for the location, is fantastic, nice views to the river Nile, specially on the roof, people are very nice, friendly, simple but nice food in the restaurant, basic breakfast.
