We stayed the third time in this hotel, because we like the quite, green location very much. This year it was "very cold", only about 20 degrees C. Therefore we got the first time from the hotel manager a fan heater for our room. We enjoy every year our room with the nile view, seeing the boats and the life at the nile. We got the first time a room in the hotel and not in the chalets, but the room quality was as good as in the chalets, the view to the landscape was better, the garden, the nile and the desert. The staff was again very friendly and shepherd my wife during her one day illness. The food, lunch and dinner, was much more better then in the years before, including some egyptian specialities, which we missed during the last years.
Therefore, we will return next year, but we think, for 3 and not for 2 weeks.

The lobby of this place is quite nice, which cannot be said for the rooms. Even though the rooms are spacious the furniture is very dated and looks like it has been poorly repainted. The bed covers have seen better times. Thus the cottage like feel. We booked a room with the view of the Nile, which the reception failed to notice, however, with the help of a very nice manager, we got the room we reserved. Indeed, the premise's manager was always around working hard, which was appreciated. However, I must note, that this was the only hotel we visited in Egypt that did not provide complimentary water. If you arrive late and want to brush your teeth you have to go to the bar to buy bottled water. Talking about trying to nickel and dime your patrons. Its a small thing but very annoying and does not make a good first impression. The Nile view was really nice. You could see part of the hotel grounds, the Old Cataract Hotel, Elephantine Island and other city landmarks. Major concern with the room was the dangerously changing water temperature of the shower. It could change from scalding hot to ice cold, which was a serious safety issue especially for our child. Also, beware of the mosquitos.
The breakfast was ok, and, I really enjoyed the pastries. We also tried the Italian restaurant by the pool, where the food was mediocre. The heated pool was way too cold to use. Most of the tourists used the area for sunbathing. The dinner buffet was surprisingly good, and the manager was kind enough to charge us a discount price. We also enjoyed the ferry across the Nile. This plus the reasonable cost makes Pyramisa a decent choice, however, I think there may be better options.

The hotel star rating is egregiously misleading.
This is an old hotel that has, unfortunately, not been kept very well. We stayed at the hotel in January 2012 for one night (thankfully).

Room:
The room we had was spacious but needs renovation. There were stains on the carpet and on the chairs, and the heating did not work. Some of the power outlets did not work.
The furnishings, bed mattress & sheets, TV, and general ambiance of the room are very, very similar to a US motel (think Travelodge or Motel 6).

Food:
See the other reviews on this hotel. The food at the hotel is quite poor. We had free breakfast with our reservation and nevertheless ended up taking the boat to the city to have breakfast

This is most certainly not a luxury hotel. On our trip to Egypt we stayed at five different luxury hotels in Cairo, Aswan and Luxor, and most of them were exceptional. The star rating on this hotel because it is simply misleading. We thought we booked at 5-star island hotel but found ourselves in, basically, a motel.

Pyramisa island of Aswan is a perfect place to stay with whole your family, because it's very childfrienly!
Its locatios offers very interssting sites to visit.
we found it also always nice that we can return to the hotel after our excursions.
there we did realy enjoy the buffets from breakfast to diner.
the staff is very helpfull and some are cheerfull too.
as for the manager-director, he is also there for you for any kind of question you may have.

we have an unforgettable christmas time and great newyears -eve, it was the best climat for time of the year.
the food was exellent and the entertainment was very amusing too...

its an ideal place to escape the cold and to relax on a beautifull Nile full of interesting things and cultures.
