I had stayed in this hotel in its two previous incarnations (the first time in 1975) and was curious to see the latest renovation. It's a triumph. Yes the prices are high, but justified by the level of comfort and exceptional service. The 1902 restaurant is much improved. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - they provided very good coffee at 4am when we had to leave for an early flight. And dinner at Fuad Corner is a memorable experience. If only there were scheduled direct flights to Aswan we would go often.

The beauty and elegance of this extraordinary hotel took me to a time and place far removed from the trappings of today's world. We had a fantastic room in the Old Wing of the hotel, in close proximity to theTerrace Restaurant; a must for afternoon tea and or dinner. Highly recommend spending a few extra pennies for this experience. and thanks to the recommendation of the company (kemet Travel) www.kemet.travel

“Wonderful”

Cocktails at sunset on the terrace of the Old Cataract.Something I have wanted to do for ever. It did not disappoint! Truly magical! The staff were so attentive and friendly and the surroundings were amazing. We were privileged to be given a mini tour after our drinks and the 1902 Restaurant was stunning. Will visit again, and stay next time

“Well worth just a visit and look around.”

We did not stay but if we return we will just for the experience. It is a magnificent looking and maintained hotel. We went at night and had a thorough look around. The lobby and terrace area are amazing. The flower arrangements were spectacular. I can't comment on staying there but this is a must if visiting Aswan.
The visit is worth it if you have the time.
Better still, for the experience, stay, I know we will if we return.

“Great rooms and service, food needs work!”

We stayed for a couple days during our 2 week Egyptian visit and the view of the Nile and pool and mountains was breathtaking! They could not get the food right during any of the meals we had (wether room service or dining in).
