The noise from the street was nothing compared to the noise from the nightclub upstairs. I might as well have dragged my bed up there! Not only was the music excruciatingly loud, nightclub guests also hung out in the lobby of the hotel and outside the guest rooms. Even without the noise, sleep would have been hard to come by, as the mattresses were 3 inches thick, and there was only a very thin, dirty, inadequate blanket. The guys at the desk were pleasant, although not helpful at all.
Also, I would not recommend booking the trip to Abu Simdel through them- their bus was one driver short of the requisite two for the trip, and to find another driver, the guy drove around Abu Simdel asking random guys that he found walking on the street! Also, one of the perks they advertised was an air conditioned van. Well, the van certainly had the feature, but the driver refused to turn it on, leaving all of us drenched in sweat in the back!

dont stay here unless u can sleep through an earthquake . the noise from the corniche is horrendous . we only wanted a cheap hotel as we where goin to abu simbel at 3.30 am booked in here paid 60le for the 2 of us the beds where clean and we had hot water . went 2 sleep at 8.30 pm and woken up at 10 pm by music , i thought the night reception had a radio on loud so went 2 ask him how we where supposed 2 sleep with the noise only 2 be told theres a NIGHTCLUB on the floor above the hotel !! . so we had 1 sleepless night in the horus and the music was still belting out when we left for abu simbel at 3.30 am . ahd 2 ask for toilet paper and towels 3 times !! . u live and learn eh lol

This hostel is quite cheap for the value. Rooms were confortable and clean. Bathroom was clean too. The location is perfect! Just in front of the Nile and the ferries to cross it. You can see lovely sunsets from your room. The staff were kind too.
