“Nice place, fantastic view, but problems with the plumbing”

We stayed 2-nights. The room was clean, simply furnished, a coffee table & a couple of comfy chairs, and the double bed & pillows were fine. Water pressure and hot water were great but we did have a problem with the toilet not flushing. We told the staff as soon as we arrived and someone did come to the room quite quickly, but they left and no one ever came back. We mentioned it again a few hours later and reminded them in the evening and were assured it would be fixed - it never was.

We had a beautiful view up & down the Nile River from the large picture window in our room on the 3rd floor. There was a small balcony, but it's not really large enough to sit out there. Location was fine - there was a market nearby with spices, fruits and all the typical Egyptian wears.

The hotel is on a main street and is quite noisy into the wee hours of the morning - nothing earplugs won't fix and I highly recommend these for any trip to Egypt as drivers honk their horns all day & night.

“great view but not clean”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

We stayed here as part of our roundtrip through egypt and this was the worst hotel. I know we booked 3*, cheap and i didn't expect a lot, but it should have been clean.
I started to clean the toiletseat, flushed the bathtub and sink with hot water.
Our toilet was broke and when we mentioned this and went out on a trip it was fixed on return, so that's quickly, but fingerprints all over. The window could have used some nails for it was falling off and dirty seals (bath, sink, etc.) and the floor could have used a mop... the linnen was clean though. We only had breakfast included but because of time we only took a cup of coffee and a cup of tea.
The view from the room was great overlooking the nile, the hotel is close to the center.
If it was cleaner it would have worked well for a overnight stay.
If you want to know more or see some pics, just let me know...

“Basic hotel, good location as a base to explore Aswan”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

We stayed for one night here as part of a nine day tour of Egypt. We weren't expecting anything more than basic accommodation as this was a budget/backpackers holiday, but actually all of the accommodation was surprisingly good for the price. My judgment may be coloured slightly by the fact we arrived at this hotel 'fresh' off the overnight train from Cairo (an experience I can only describe as 'character building') so maybe any hotel would have seemed great, but even now looking back I think it was pretty decent. The reception area is a bit small and dingy, but the breakfast room on the first floor was bright and airy with views out to river. We were given a welcome drink on arrival and were able to go to our rooms straight away. The room was a good size, fairly basic, but it had working air conditioning, which with temperatures in the low 40s was essential. The bathroom was fine. The highlight of our room was the huge balcony (we had a corner room at the front of the hotel) which had amazing views over the Nile. In the early evening it was great sitting out on the balcony watching all the activity on the river. Definitely worth trying to get a front room if you have a choice. I've read some of the other reviews saying that it was very noisy and difficult to sleep due to the street outside. I personally didn't find this to be the case but that may be due to how tired we were after the train journey – I reckon I could have slept through anything. We didn't have any breakfast as we left at 4am to get in the convoy to go to Abu Simbel but they had made us breakfast boxes and they were ok. I would have liked more time to explore Aswan, and I think this hotel would serve as a good base.

“It is a nice place with a great view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2011

This hotel has a nice view to the Nile. If you stay 1 or 2 day will be a wonderfull experience. They have very good price qotation a the reception arround 40 USD for a double and 25 USD for a single. The rooms are nice and big; and very important the air condition is working well. You will get some noise from the main street but you will have the Nile in front of you.
The breakfast is not so good (lack of variety of food). The hotel is situted also close to the railway station, bus station and also to the city center.
