“Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 April 2012

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for three nights. I was not sure what to expect when we came to the hotel, but the room ended up being surprisingly nice. The only big problem with the room came on our first night while we were both reading in bed and a lizard started running on our walls, needless to say, I was not pleased, and did not sleep well that night thinking about the lizard. We brought it up with the next morning with the men at the desk and they were apologetic and said they would take care of the problem...I am not exactly sure what that meant but we did not see any lizards for the remainder of our stay.

My favorite part of the hotel was the view, our room was facing towards the nile and I was able to watch the sunset over the Nile every night.

The breakfast is essentially just bread, cheese, and an egg, not exactly filling.

The men who worked at the hotel were extremely helpful in getting us to the sites we wanted to see, and they were able to find us a 5 star 2 day cruise from Aswan to Luxor that was amazing! The service they provided was excellent and other than the view the best part about the hotel.

The elevator does not work though, and as the reception is on the third floor and the rooms are on the floors above that, it may be difficult for people who have a lot of luggage or difficulty walking.

“Broken but great potential”

Typical Egyptian hotel.
Nice management but the hotel let's them down.
The lift didn't work - reception is 3 floors up and our room was effextively on the 6th floor.
The swimming pool was empty (and looked disgusting).
The bathroom door would close!

“Below expectations, which weren't high to start.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I was a solo woman traveler and got royally sick of one leering desk clerk, and he kind of soured me on the rest of the experience. Most of the staff had little or no English so I was steered wrong about the ability to get to Abu Simbel. I never got there. At the back overlooking a very noisy alley that went all night, I got a room with rock-hard twin beds, no tub, as shown in the pictures here (I didn't know about this site), a shower with no curtain so the room was splattered (but there was plenty of hot water and the floor dried quickly). The location right on the Nile is handy and central, and right above the bank for converting cash. Breakfast is just an egg and bread, and you have to ask for more coffee, but you'll get it with a few more pounds. It was cheap overall but I met people who were happier with a much cheaper place I never checked out called the Boomerang.

“On the Nile and that's what you pay for”

We stayed here for one night before moving to the reasonable but more expensive Keylany Hotel. We were given a room on the front with a great view of the Nile but a very loud moored ferry kept us up nearly all night, as the windows were so thin.
It had evidently not been cleaned for our arrival as there were other people's hair in the sink and on the floor, and overall dirtiness in the room. There was a fluorescent tube for lighting and grubby walls and curtains.
Would never recommend this hotel to anyone unless you are on a severe budget and do not care for cleanliness or service. There are better places in Aswan!!

Room Tip: Higher up you might be safe from the noise of the street
