Nice staff, discrete and kindness, clean room and bathroom. sufficient breakfast, what more for that money..

Clean, cheap and sufficient hotel for any budget traveler in Aswan, superb Nile-views from the rooms, very good location. Unfortunately the rooftop terrace and the pool are not in use (no water in the pool and dirty) but still a good place for even better Nile views! The tours they offer are reasonably priced and ok (we did Abu Simbel, a 3 hour tour to high dam, Philae temple and unfinished obelisk and a sunset felucca tour around Elefantine island) BUT: what they completely cocked up unfortunately was our planned trip by felucca to Kom Ombo (incl. an overnight stay and continuing transport to Luxor with visiting temples on the way). Achmed, who arranges the trips told us a very good price for 2 persons which we accepted and an even better price if we would be more people and adviced us not talk to any other felucca captain who would only give us unreasonable offers. So we totally relied on him (as mentioned above all the other tours were fine and the price was good) with the result that at 21:30 before the day of our departure we were informed that the felucca tour was cancel for lack of participants. We talked about this trip many times with Achmed before and there was never a mentioning of a minimum need of persons for this trip. Given the short notice we had no chance to make other arrangements with felucca captains of our choice (maybe would have been more expansive but easy) and ended up going to Luxor by train – so please triple-check your arrangements!

We stayed at the Memnon in Aswan for 4 nights. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. They picked us up at the train station even though the train was 2 hrs late. The staff organised some great trips for us. An afternoon trip to Abu Simbel in a private taxi, we had Abu Simbel to ourselves, and also a great nile cruise which was fantastic value at £100 for 2 people for 3 nights. The hostel has a good location. Our room had a fantastic nile view. We were very pleased with our room which was air conditioned,en-suite and breakfast was included. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Memnon as very good value for money.

This hotel is difficult to find but when you get inside is nice.

Our room was big but the bathroom door was broken which caused us issues, however we were only staying for one night so didnt see the point in complaining!

The views are great from the room and the room terrace. Sadly when we got there the pool on the roof was not working.

The hotel organised our trips to Abu SImbel (about 100le I think it was) and our overnight train back to Cairo (small commission of 20le which was good considering we had been told elsewhere that the train was fully booked).
