The hotel is located downtown, in the middle of a slum area - very noisy - there is nothing within walking distance of this hotel, besides a store selling water & cooldrinks. On the rooftop - pool area you able to see the Great Pyramids of Giza in the far distance! its worth the trip to Maadi city centre shopping mall which is the closest from the hotel - better food (Mc donalds, Pizza Hut, Cafe supreme, KFc etc) - & inexpensive.. 20 pounds will get you ther by taxi! City Stars centre is a really huge mall & has a bigger variety of food & stores.
Swiss Inn overall is a clean & basic, spacious hotel, there is a mini fridge in the room but no kettle or tea/coffee, there is limited menu for vegetarians (3 dishes at most), breakfast on the other hand seemed to be good - a variety of cereals, pastries, breads & the local dishes. , Service isnt great, you will wait for anything you ask for... toilet paper is the worse to ask for - they will not replace it! & most of the staff are unable to speak english.
A word of advice, get an upper level/top floor Nile view room, the higher you are the better the rooms get! Also they do not allow early check in - if soo you will pay 150 dollars!!
Overall I would rate this hotel a 3 star!
Room Tip: Get an upper level/top floor Nile view room, the higher you are the better the rooms get! Less noise...
