I agree with the other reviews that the staff were helpful but maybe a little too keen to plan our whole egypt trip for us. got there a bit late and really wanted to go to bed but the owner was keen to tell us what we would be doing each day. this is great if you want your trip planned for you. think he got the message and didn't really bother us too much after that.
breakfast was included but not great.... a few bits of bread, jam, coffee, processed cheese wedge, boiled egg.
it was clean for cairo standards but it is pretty run down. the bathroom was a shock and i wasn't keen to go back in there after my first look in there.
it was very noisy on our first night there with doors slamming and people chatting through the night. following nights we switched on the aircon to block out the noise.
it is ok for cairo and hostel standards but just remember to keep your expectations low.

The rooms very perfectly cleaned, A/C, (Egyptian) breakfast included, staff was the best and always ready for a short chat or stupid talk ;) and helped with literally everything. The price for the double room (officially 130EGP, but got it for 110EGP) was almost nothing compared to the service we got.
The hostel is located between Talaat Harb Street that leads to Talaat Harb Square and Tahrir, and the Bazaar quarter and Khan El-Khalili within a few minutes walk. But it is more quiet up here than directly in downtown.

Excelent place for budget travels, they welcomed us from the kick-off with a cup of hot tea. At 6AM, so it's no small thing. And everything else was just as good, completing a lovely Cairo experience.

I could not believe when I reached the sixth floor of the building that I found such a paradise. I walked in and literally within one minute I was joking with one of the employees, Ahmad, and one of the co-owners, Matius - a German expat. Ahmad giving me highfives every other sentence. They tell you, 'this is your home', and the strange thing is, they really follow through. Free breakfast in the morning (omlettes included). Soap and towels provided. Twin size beds even in the dorms. No bunks. Private balconies even in the dorm rooms. Computer with internet (free). Delivery service (water and food and so forth). Plenty of advice about the city, and they will of course drink a beer with you in the evening. I would come back to Cairo just to visit this place.
