We stayed there as a group of 8 for two nights. The hostel itself is reasonably well located, and was also kept reasonably clean by the two cleaning ladies there. (Although our bin was never emptied).
The problem with the hostel is the owner Mustafa. From the moment we arrived he did everything possible to extort money from our group. The price per night was 80 Egyptian pounds. He then offered us a personal taxi service for 1200 Egyptian pounds- after we refused it, the price dropped to 600 ego. We were told the taxi would be with us all the time, however it was only available to take us to the pyramids and into Giza, it was also often late and / or didn't turn up. Had we used local taxis, we would not have paid more than 200egp for the entire stay.
The wireless Internet was also expensive and very slow( would not work with skype). Mustafa charged 10egp per day but wanted all money up front for the duration of the stay.
The laundry service was a complete rip off - 2egp to wash a pair of shorts!
Finally the most annoying thing was that whenever you did have to give him money, he would conveniently have no change, but tell you that it was no problem, he would owe you!
Also, as previously mentioned we had to pay half the room rate, in order to leave our bags there for an extra couple of hours after checkout time.
All in all this could be a good hostel but is spoilt by a complete ass hole.
