This hotel is quite a way from the airport. We had arranged a transfer in advance rather than negotiate with local taxi drivers, but unfortunately, our driver couldn't quite locate where this hotel was!! It's new and not very busy (yet). To be fair, it was fine, but nothing special. Good value for the money; we paid around 67Euro per night for a family room via a discount hotel booking site (rack rate is advertised at $250 US). It wasn't a very big room, I think they class 'family' as having two small children (ours are 13 and 10) but it was just about big enough. Nice pool, friendly staff (especially considering it was Ramadan), food ok (buffet style or a la carte). The hotel is walking distance (if you can stand the heat and the constant beeping of car horns) from the Mall Of Arabia, which is an upmarket shopping mall of vast proportions. Don't book any taxis from the hotel though; they advertised at 55 Egyptian pounds for a short taxi ride to the next mall along (HyperOne), and even then the booking clerk tried to get 75 pounds for it! Hailed our own one on the way back, who asked for 20 Egyptian pounds, which we happily paid.

We stayed in Cairo one week.The hotel staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. Our pre-teen daughter has Coeliac Disease and the chefs in the restaurant went out of their way to create a lovely gluten free meal for her every time we dined there (coeliac disease is not well recognised in the middle east) - she was treated like a VIP!

I used Novotel 6 october hotel about a week ago for a conference, the hotel is an excellent venue for conference compared to the rates they offer, the service is really good and the staff are so helpful and polite and they are so flexible just to satisfy you.
The lunch was nice for a conference but not really what you look forward to if you are on leisure. There is a very nice pool that is not heavily used by tourists due to the fact that the majority were attending conferences. The hotel is in 6 october city which is almost 30 kilometres away from down town however a new mall called mall of arabia l has opened like 15 min walk from the hotel with a big hyper market and many shops like gap, monsoon, tramline, vodafone shop and several popular coofee shops.
