I have stayed here a few times in the last couple of years whilst working just outside Cairo.
The hotel is modern, clean, has a decent gym and swimming pool, we are happy to return on most trips.
The only small area of criticism I would have is of the food, the buffet is generally not inspiring, and the bar only serves very basic bar snacks such as burgers, club sandwich etc. The one exception I found was during one stay, I think on a Tuesday night they move the buffet outside and there is some entertainment, on this occasion the food was excellent, dont know why they cant offer that quality and variety every night.
I usually end up ordering from the room service menu which is more comprehensive, not too expensive and actually quite good.
Comparing it with the Cairo Airport Novotel it is much more modern and pleasant at 6th October City, but the choice of restaurants is better at the Airport hotel.
You can get a taxi direct to anywhere in Cairo from the booking station at the front door, and there is nearly always a taxi outside waiting anyway, I think its about EP300 to the airport.
If I was coming to Cairo on holiday, I would stay closer to the center, for the price they ask, for us it is convenient to use for business.
