The Hilton Cairo WTC is the ugly little sibling of the Ramses and the brand-new Zamalek, but that's not to say that it's poor -- on the contrary! On arrival, unrequested we were upgraded to a Royal Suite, and had a room larger than our home. Of course, the property is an apart-hotel, but the expanse of the rooms and our fabulous balcony (with surround-city views on the 14th floor) was a treat.
Unfortunately, the facilities were essentially shut for the winter, but this is no bad thing as the entire surrounding neighborhood is under construction. Although it is on one of the busiest streets in Cairo, it was clean and quiet. The only shabby part of the suite was the bathroom: it needed an entire overhaul. Although we had good value for money, given the weak exchange of the Egyptian pound, we were frustrated that the rate was high compared with neighboring properties.
Bonus: We opted to dine at the hotel restaurant for New Year's Eve. The service was exceptional, and the quality of the beef fillet etc. rivaled upscale steakhouses in London. Also, the portion sizes were exceedingly generous. The only downside was the plasma TV tuned to MTV as "ambiance".

This was our second hotel in Cairo. We had a room for my mom and one for me and my boyfriend. Alas, like everywhere else, if they see the same last name on two rooms, they'll try to put you all into one room. When we finally got this sorted out, we found that there are only 4 "rooms" per floor- you get 1/4 of the entire floor! Our suite had a kitchen, 3 berooms, 3 baths and was great! Same with my mom's room. Totally overkill, but we weren't aware of how HUGE the rooms (suites) are.
Also of note: it appears this is a diplomat hotel - one that people live in for anywhere from one night to weeks or months. There are probably some (rich) tenants that live there permanently. It's a little older, but it's clean, nice and quiet.
The toiletries are Crabtree & Evelyn, the scenery is as good as it gets in smoggy Cairo, and the people are lovely. After we got home we emailed the hotel to ask the chef for a certain eggplant recipe. A few days later they very kindly emailed back with the recipe.
Make friends with the people, they'll treat you better.
For internet we went next door to the Conrad.
When getting a taxi, make sure you do NOT tell them the Conrad, even though they may not be familiar with this hotel. They'll raise the price 10x for the "tourists".

I was quite surprised Hilton let this hotel carries their brand. It is decent hotel nevertheless but it's just not a Hilton hotel.

We stayed there one night after a great trip in Egypt. We got a suite which is very big. The bed was nice but the overall quality of the suite was disappointing. It looked like the suite was not well maintained. The TV didn't work, the bathroom showed sign of rundown. The same happened to the lobby, kitchen and service area. Breakfast was not so good.

Location is not so good. You would need to take taxi to go around the city. Not much choice for dining out around the area. They don't have business center so you would have to go to hotel nearby if you need to check in your flight online. The staff were great though. They seemed very helpful.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel because of the poor value for money. You can get better quality hotel with the same price.

It has been said before - this is NOT a hotel. It is a serviced apartment complex - in less than good condition - it must have been ahead of its time when it was new - now everything (from the bathroom, to the kitchenette) is really worn out. It is really odd to see Hilton bathroom amenities in such an aged setting.

You do get many rooms (mine had 2 bedrooms and a study + a large hall and dining + balcony) for the price of a standard hotel room. But most taxi drivers don't have a clue and will either bring you to (1) the Conrad , about 200m away, in the same complex; (2) the Ramses Hilton downtown or (3) the former Nile Hilton location, which is being redeveloped into a Ritz Carlton...

This place has the most unremarkable entrance and lobby of any 4 star hotel I have ever seen. My taxi driver (I too, was looking everywhere) drove past twice in front of the entrance (which is off a very small side road around the 'World Trade Centre" - which, by the way, is not what you would expect from the name) and missed it completely. He stopped and asked many, many people (other taxi drivers, shop keepers, guards), and they all seemed unaware as well.
